After speaking, Wang Zhi ignored the ensuing discussion and turned, leaving the first floor. He walked up to the Rooftop and stood there alone, gazing into the distance.
He recalled his parents. Although his memories were fragmented, at least he remembered his mother's appearance. It was no wonder that in his memory, his mother was so gentle, as if her eyes only held him.
Thinking of how his parents had sacrificed themselves to save his life, the sorrow in his heart instantly surged.
He didn't know how long had passed, but the lights outside gradually went out. A hand reached out from behind Wang Zhi and stroked the back of his neck, where the scratch from Ying's nail had already healed.
"Instead of resting well, what are you spacing out for here? Aren't we training tomorrow?" Su Muying came to Wang Zhi's side and said.
"You go sleep first, I'm not that sleepy yet," Wang Zhi replied.
"Hmph, you look quite energetic. I hope you're still like this tomorrow," Su Muying said before leaving.
....
The next day, Wang Zhi slowly opened his eyes while sitting on a chair on the Rooftop. He had sat in the chair, lost in thought, for an unknown amount of time before finally drifting off to sleep last night. The scorching weather meant there was no need to worry about catching a chill. The sky hadn't fully brightened yet. Wang Zhi immediately headed to Qin Sheng's room to wake him up. The two threw on some clothes casually and then went out to buy breakfast.
As for why Wang Zhi didn't wake up Fatty, it was because he didn't want to listen to Fatty complain endlessly about having to wake up early.
"Hey Captain Wang, what was going on with you guys yesterday?" Long Yi happened to be coming out to eat as well and approached Wang Zhi to ask.
"Yesterday? Training," Wang Zhi said as if nothing had happened.
"Well... your training method is quite unique, haha," Long Yi chuckled awkwardly.
"Indeed. Want to take some time off and try it out too?"
"I'll pass on joining that. I was just worried if something had happened to you guys."
"Nothing's wrong, don't worry. We'll be heading off now."
"Okay, see you around."
...
"You Luo, take that Mutated Crystal Core from the giant eagle and list it at the auction house later."
Wang Zhi said to you Luo while they were eating.
"Alright." Although You Luo was very reluctant to run errands, she still agreed.
After the meal, Wang Zhi resumed his beating session. In the sparring match with Su Muying, every part of his body except his face received attacks of varying degrees.
"Are you sure you can still fight?" Su Muying asked Wang Zhi, who kept getting up, looking at him with doubt. She knew the force of her attacks; without any protective gear, Wang Zhi should have been covered in injuries long ago, yet he stood up and continued fighting as if nothing had happened every time, which greatly surprised her.
"Don't forget, my recovery ability is very strong," Wang Zhi gritted out, twisting his joints before charging forward again.
Su Muying's eyes flickered, then a look of delight appeared: "Then you need to be careful!"
Seeing Wang Zhi's strong recovery ability, Su Muying stopped holding back and struck him down hard onto the ground. Having such a human punching bag gradually sparked a desire to train in Su Muying as well.
And now, any team still training on the grounds would notice the same thing: a man who had been beaten from morning till night, yet could still walk out of the training grounds as if nothing had happened.
Returning to the residence that evening, Fatty kept observing Wang Zhi from head to toe. "Captain Wang, are you really fine? Don't tell me you have some internal injuries left."
"It's not a big problem; this is probably caused by that thing inside my body," Wang Zhi replied.
"It's not a Crystal Core?" Old He asked.
"No, including my sensitivity to Mutant Species, it's all caused by this thing. Aelirans and the others have already confirmed it," Wang Zhi responded.
"What exactly did your mother inject you with? It's so abnormal?" You Luo frowned and asked.
"Don't ask me. Even the Tower Master doesn't know about this, so how would I?" Wang Zhi replied.
"Do you guys think the Tower Master might be a veteran figure from the N Organization back then?" Fatty asked.
"If what the Tower Master said is all true, then her status back then must have been quite high, after all, she managed to take away so many people," Duan Qingtian said.
"Could there be a possibility that the Tower Master is actually the leader of the N Organization?" You Luo suggested.
"Then why did she go through such a huge detour?" Su Muying said.
"To find a scapegoat? After we destroy the N Organization, she can logically take over Earth in the name of justice?" Gray Wolf speculated.
"Yeah! Captain Wang, didn't you say that members of the N Organization all have an 'N' mark on their necks? I noticed the Tower Master always wears high-collared clothes, always hiding her neck-what does that mean?" Fatty asked.
"No, none of that matters. Which faction we belong to, what environment we are in-none of that is important. Our only direction is to survive. No matter the method, as long as we are alive, there will eventually be a moment to uncover the truth," Wang Zhi stated.

June 22, 2026, Overcast.
It has been seven days since Wang Zhi and his team returned from their mission. As soon as he woke up this morning, Wang Zhi saw long-absent dark clouds.
Looking at the heavily overcast sky, Wang Zhi felt a subtle sense of unease. The relentless drought and high temperatures had tormented all living things; this sudden appearance of dark clouds made Wang Zhi feel that things were not so simple.
It was already 7 AM. Within Wang Zhi's line of sight, everything was dark. The thick clouds blocked the sunlight. A group of people cheered excitedly on the ground upon seeing the clouds, some even boasting to their teammates that it was their prayer from the previous night that brought the rain.
"This day has finally arrived," Fatty said, looking up at the sky.
"Indeed. If this drought continues, the crops won't survive," Old He commented.
"What's wrong, Xiao Qin?" Fatty asked, noticing Qin Sheng frowning continuously.
"Logically, at this level of cloud cover, it should already be raining, but not a single drop has fallen. This is an Anomaly," Qin Sheng explained to everyone.
"An Anomaly? How anomalous can it be? Is it going to unleash a massive spell and drown us?" Fatty retorted skeptically.
"I don't know either. I just feel that this doesn't conform to natural laws," Qin Sheng replied.
"It better rain a downpour for the ages and drown all those Zombies!" White Crow said fiercely.
"Don't jinx it. That would probably mean a complete reshuffle of the entire planet," Gray Wolf interrupted white crow's ill-omened words.
"Let's stick to the normal training schedule. If there's an issue, Jie Xi will notify us in advance," Wang Zhi said, gesturing toward the communicator on his chest.
"Don't count on them. No one can predict nature; let's just be careful," Su Muying shot Wang Zhi a look, believing it was better to rely on oneself than anyone else.
