Captain Wang roughly calculated his ammunition. He currently had 1000 rounds left. Fortunately, he had purchased ammunition worth 500 Survival Points before setting out. He truly hadn't expected that after taking just a couple of steps into the city area, he would have already fired through the contents of 10 magazines.
Next, they were heading to the first level of the subway tunnel. Captain Wang's plan was to follow the tracks all the way to the next station entrance.
"Is everyone alright?" Captain Wang asked quietly.
"No problem...."
Seeing the others shake their heads in response, Captain Wang rested for a moment before getting up and continuing deeper inside.
Arriving at the elevator, it had long since stopped running. Captain Wang descended along the elevator shaft and found that the train had not stopped here; on the platform, besides some bloodstains, there were only a few Zombies slowly moving around.
"What's the situation here?" Fatty said, looking at the empty platform.
Captain Wang remained vigilant, scanning the surroundings.
"They must have all gone over there," Captain Wang said, pointing to the broken glass door in the distance.
"They all went onto the tracks?" Fatty asked doubtfully.
"Yes, that glass door doesn't look like it was destroyed by Zombies," Old He commented, looking at the glass door.
"Someone broke the door trying to escape, and then all the Zombies jumped down after them?" Zhang Ming analyzed.
"That's the only possibility, otherwise, a platform wouldn't only have this few Zombies."
After speaking, Captain Wang drew his Dagger and took down the few Zombies one by one.
Captain Wang walked to the glass door, stuck his head out, and looked toward the endless tracks. Captain Wang beckoned, and the six of them jumped from the platform down onto the tracks below.
The six continued walking west toward Z Hospital. Occasionally, a few Zombies would appear on the tracks, and as long as they weren't swarms, Captain Wang and his team could still easily deal with them.
"Look!" Old He said, pointing ahead.
Captain Wang also saw it clearly ahead—it was the train!
"Damn it! Why did this damned train have to stop right here?" Fatty cursed loudly.
The train occupied the entire track, making it impossible for them to pass on either side or over the top.
"This?" Captain Wang looked at the train with some surprise; he hadn't expected it to stop mid-route.
"What's the big deal? Let's just climb aboard!"
As Su Muying spoke, she stabbed her Fentian into the rear of the train car.
"Wait! Aren't you... afraid there are Zombies inside?" Fatty reminded her.
"Tch, if there are, we still have to go in. Are we supposed to turn back?"
Su Muying applied force, and the Dagger she had stabbed in immediately tore a gash in the train car's rear metal plating.
"Tsk, tsk, having a good weapon really lets you do whatever you want!" Captain Wang remarked as he watched Su Muying violently force entry.
Once Su Muying had ripped open a small breach, the situation inside startled everyone again.
"Holy crap!"
Fatty shouted as he looked at the train car completely packed with Zombies.
"This!"
The six of them stared at the Zombies inside the carriage, momentarily at a loss for what to do.
"How many grenades do you all have left?"
Captain Wang asked, taking stock; the six of them only had four High-Explosive Grenades remaining in total.
"That's enough."
Captain Wang took all four grenades, then stepped forward and began striking the metal plating at the rear of the train car forcefully.
The Zombies inside the car had already gathered completely, and at the opening below, one Zombie had already thrust its hand outside and was waving it wildly.
After striking for a while, Wang Zhi felt it was enough. He told everyone to fall back a distance, then tossed one High-Explosive Grenade through the opening.
Boom! Flames rushed out of the opening from inside the car. This single blast killed at least twenty Zombies.
Wang Zhi looked at the bulging rear end of the train car, estimating that one more blast would completely tear open the opening at the back.
After the explosion, Wang Zhi didn't need to deliberately strike the train again. The Zombies inside the car were naturally drawn over, crowding once more at the rear of the compartment.
"Prepare for battle!" Wang Zhi commanded, tossing the second High-Explosive Grenade into the gap before swiftly retreating to stand with the five others twenty meters away.
Boom! Just as Wang Zhi had expected, this massive explosion expanded the opening at the rear of the car into a large breach, and the Zombies behind it began jumping down from the train.
Although there were many Zombies this time, the opening was only so large, forcing them to emerge from the car one by one. Therefore, Wang Zhi only let Old He fire for the time being. The sniper rifle in Old He's hands had terrifying accuracy; almost every shot was a headshot. Only when Old He changed magazines would Wang Zhi step up to fire a couple of rounds himself.
After Old He had been shooting for a while, Fatty, standing nearby, grew eager to shoot as well. In the end, everyone treated it as target practice, taking turns standing there to fire.
It was unclear how much time had passed, but the tracks were already covered with corpses, and no more Zombies were crawling out of the carriage. Everyone was still eager for more, having finally gotten a chance to practice on live targets.
