A low voice sounded from behind them.
"No need. I'm right here, you can ask me anything."
They both turned around and Nathan smiled, which was uglier than crying.
"Mr Moreno."
Kai scoffed and didn't give him any face at all.
"If you don't want to smile, there's no need to. I don't want anyone to think I'm bullying you with how ugly your face looks."
Nathan sucked in a breath and grinded his teeth, the fake smile gone from his lips.
However, thinking this was a good opportunity, he decided to confront Kai.
"I don't seem to have offended you before have I? And if I did without my knowledge then, I implore you not to hold it in mind"
Kai rolled his eyes. All flowery words that meant only one thing. He wanted to shrink responsibility. He laughed softly.
"Nathan Hale, I don't know whether to call you audacious or just simply stupid. You had the biggest trump card and threw it away for nothing. Now that you're facing the consequences, you can't bear it?"
