The Spring Showdown is a two day event that is one of the biggest events that the company puts on. During the event every single belt in the organization would be put on the line culminating in the Triple Threat Title match for the SWF Universal Championship in the main event of the season day.
The first day started with a match for the Women's International Championship. The match saw the current champion Jinx Ember take on the former champion La Rosa in a rematch of their previous title bout. Jinx Ember once again emerged victorious over the veteran former champion.
The next title up for grabs was the World Tag Team Championship. The War Chieftains, a team of Fendougal and Mullen, two Celtic warriors turned wrestlers challenged The American Academy for their titles. It was a fierce back and forth struggle between two world class tag teams, in what many would call one of the best matches the year so far. Eventually the champions held on to retain their titles.
The International Championship was the next title on the line. The current champion Brutus Bolt took on up and coming challenger and former social media star, Paul Jacobs. The match was contested in a no holds barred contest that saw the champion brutally beat down his opponent in a one sided victory. Though the fight wasn't particularly competitive, many showed respect for the guts and determination of Jacobs as he never quit no matter how much damage the champion inflicted on him. Many saw the former social media celebrity as a legitimate wrestler after this match.
The co main event of the event's first day was for the Women's World Championship. It was a match between former Women's World Champion Jill the Ripper and the woman who stole her title through underhanded tactics, Morgan Lynx. The match was once again threatened to be swayed by the interference of the Punishment Squad which was led by Lynx's paramour Domingo Mystery. However, Jill had prepared for it this time and her "twin" Jack had come out and defended the ring from the would be intruders. With the potential interference dealt with, Jill won her belt back in dominating fashion.
The main event of the first day would be a SWF World Heavyweight Championship match between the new champion Twilight Killer and the man challenging for his title, Chet Rogue. Twilight Killer had won his title from the former champion Bernhardt after turning in the contract he had won at the Summit Clash. The man who was supposed to be the next in line for the title was Chet Rogue.
Backstage before their match, Chet and Killer happened to bump into each other, and Chet used this opportunity to take some part shots at Twilight Killer.
"Hey champ good to see you good luck out there." Chet said with obvious sarcasm and Killer had no intention of responding. Though he wouldn't have responded even if the compliment was genuine.
Chet was about to walk away before he said what he was really wanting to say. "You know, that little faction you guys got going on, you've got some really talented people. I mean just look at you and Night Queen, you've got guys are already champions. You can't say that about everyone. For example, Black Mask how can he order you around when he hasn't even won a championship himself. If you ask me, you should be the leader."
Twilight Killer just stared at him blankly.
"Well, good talk bud. Let's have a good match out there." Chet said as he patted Twilight Killer on the back and walked away.
Chet's intentions were to drive a wedge between Twilight Killer and Black Mask and perhaps in some way disrupt Killer's focus on the fight. However, it remained to be seen whether these mental tactics would give him an advantage or if they would backfire horribly. The answer would be seen once the fight between the two began.
"Introducing first, the challenger! Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall! Weighing in at 215 pounds! Fighting out of Chicago, Illinois! He is the former 2X SWF Universal Champion! It's, Chet! Rogue!!!!!!!!!!"
"Now, for his opponent! The champion! He stands at 6 feet 8 inches tall! Weighing in 315 pounds! Fighting out of Buffalo, New York! He is, the reigning! Defending!!! Champion!!!!! It's "The Royal Executioner! Twilight!! Killer!!!!!!!!!!!!"
