Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Suprise Final Opponent!

The next wrestler to enter the ring was another member of the Tribal Alliance, Iron Toa. He was a massive man wearing traditional Samoan tribal gear. He had tribal tattoos all over his shoulders as well.

Iron Toa was a punishing fighter that was a former SWF American Champion. Under normal circumstances, he would be a very difficult match for Black Mask but even more so considering the current situation he was in an incredibly dangerous position.

Toa started their fight with a brutal shoulder tackle that dropped Black Mask to the mat. He followed with a furious barrage of open hand strikes. He then put Black Mask on his shoulders in a fireman's carry and dropped straight to his back.

"Oh! A Samoan Slam punctuates a relentless beating that Iron Toa is putting on Black Mask right now. This is rough match for Black Mask to have at the tail end of this gauntlet I honestly can't see a way for him to win here." Ted said.

"I agree, I think we're finally going to see him lose here. Still, you have to give him credit for making it as far as he did. He beat six tough opponents, but Iron Toa is just too much for him to handle at this point." Bill added.

Black Mask continued to get beat down, while he was on the ground the crowd had gone quiet. Black Mask managed to make it back to his feet and was even able counter a few of his strikes and landed a few good throws. Iron Toa was on his knees leaning against the ropes.

Although it had seemed that Black Mask had regained momentum in the match, most people in the crowd were certain that it was impossible for him to win given the circumstances. Black Mask took a deep breath and as he did, he found a young kid in the front row wearing a black luchador mask.

"You can do it Black Mask!" The kid shouted.

Just then, Black Mask smiled and pointed to the kid. He then started running towards the ropes.

"Oh my goodness!!! He's not going for what I think he is, is he?" Ted asked. "Oh!! I think he is!!!!!!! It a, Tiger Feint Kick!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Black Mask dove through the ropes while spinning around to kick Iron Toa, and laying him out on the canvas. This move made the crowd erupt in excitement and they started cheering Black Mask's name.

*For reference, this move is more well known by its other name, the 619.*

"That was incredible! I don't think we've ever seen Black Mask use that technique before, but man did it get the crowd back into this match!" Ted announced excitedly.

"That's true, it's the first time he's ever used it. However, remember it used to be frequently used by his former mentor the legendary luchador El Tigre Mask." Bill added.

"Yes it was, and a variation of that move is also used by another legendary luchador who is a current SWF wrestler and former multi time champion, King Mystery." Ted added.

Iron Toa was down on the mat stunned, Black Mask followed up with a Leg Drop after he bounced off the ropes. He then hoisted Iron Toa onto his right shoulder and dropped him face first into the top of the turnbuckle with a reverse powerbomb.

"Oh! Another vicious move! And another move that we haven't seen in Black Mask's repertoire before." Ted said.

"Thats right, but you have to pull out all the stops like that when you're in a tough situation like this and your backs against the wall." Bill responded.

While Iron Toa was down, Black Mask covered for the three count.

"1!"

"2!"

"3!"

"With that, Black Mask has won! He's made it one step further in this gauntlet. I don't think many people were expecting that given the way things were going." Ted said.

"That's true, but it's not over yet. He still has two more opponents to fight." Bill added.

"And here comes his next opponent! It's Matai Crusher!"

A man who was so massive that he made even Iron Toa and Tex Lunger look small made his way to the ring. He was almost 8 feet tall and over 550 pounds and covered head to toe I. Tribal tattoos. This man was so powerful that he once brought King Kamehameha to the brink of defeat during the tribal civil war before they reformed the Tribal Alliance. As his name suggests, he has made a reputation for crushing the strongest foes.

"Even in top condition you wouldn't stand a chance against me. Why don't you just call it quits little man." Crusher said as he mockingly pushed Black Mask's head.

Black Mask responded with a spear, but he was stopped in his tracks by Matai Crusher. He then lifted him up in a military press before dropping him and hitting him with a standing Moonsault.

"Oh my goodness!! Didn't you see that! Black Mask just lifted the massive Matai Crusher like it was nothing! And to pull off a standing Moonsault right after is impressive. It was one thing when he did it earlier, but to do it to a man of that size is just amazing!"

Matai Crusher recovered and hit Black Mask with a Muscle Buster. Black Mask responded by hitting him with a Black Buster. Crusher then hit him with a vicious Brainbuster from the top rope, and again Black Mask responded by hitting him with the same move.

"You've got to be kidding me! No matter how much damage Matai Crusher dishes out, Black Mask just keeps going and answers back with the same technique!"

After a particularly brutal barrage of strikes, Black Mask pushed Crusher away with a kick and then stood on top of the turnbuckle. "Black Mask is!!!!" He called out to the crowd.

"Invincible!!!!!" The crowd shouted in reply.

"Black Mask is!!!!"

"Incomparable!!!!!!!!"

"Black Mask is!!!!"

"Indomitable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Those aren't just words they say when they introduce me." Black Mask said. "They're the manifestation of my resolve!!"

"You've got to be kidding me! This guy was barely able to stand, and now it's like he's just as strong as he was when the match started. This is ridiculous! I'm ending this now!" Crusher thought as he charged in for another attack.

This time he hit a high amplitude Samoan Slam. He then went for the cover, but only got a two count.

"That was a good one, let's see how you like it." Black Mask said as he again used the exact same technique on his opponent and he went for the cover himself.

"1!"

"2!"

Matai Crusher kicked out at the count of two and retreated to the corner to try to regain his composure. He came back and started beating down Black Mask again.

"I've had enough of this!!! I'm ending this now!!!!!" Crusher said as he hit Black Mask with a Samoan Spike that was so powerful that it ripped into Black Mask's throat.

"Whoa! What a brutal technique. This bad for Black Mask. It puts not only his chance of victory in jeopardy, but also his life!" Ted said.

"Ha! How's that? It's over now!" Crusher laughed confidently as Black Mask was left reeling from the strike.

"It's over?" Black Mask asked as his wound that was gushing blood suddenly stopped bleeding. "You make a good point, I should end this fight already." He said confidently.

Matai Crusher was in shock seeing his opponent brush off a potentially fatal wound. "That's impossible! H-How did you stop the bleeding? How can you keep fighting?" Crusher asked.

"Oh? I just flexed my muscles to squeeze the blood vessels shut. You can do this too? It's a simple little trick." Black Mask said dismissively.

Black Mask then threw Crusher into the corner and setup his signature move.

"It's the, Execution! Drop!!!!"

Black Mask hit Matai Crusher with his Execution Drop and covered and the referee started her count.

"1!"

"2!"

"3!"

"I can't believe it! Black Mask wins the fight with his signature move! The odds were against him. This has without a doubt been the most brutal lineup for a Gauntlet Match that I've ever seen in all my years of covering Super Wrestling. He's finally made it to his final opponent. If my guess is correct it's going to be Kenny Koa. While he's an accomplished wrestler and former SWF Heavyweight Champion, he's a far less daunting opponent than Matai Crusher." Ted announced.

"If he got through that match, then he should be able to do the same here. Of course, that's assuming that he can keep this pace up for the final match. I might be crazy, but I'm starting to feel like Black Mask just might win this thing!" Ted continued.

"I think the crowd is starting to think the same thing." Bill added as he gestured to the crowd that was on their feet cheering for Black Mask.

"Hehe, everything has gone exactly to plan." A hooded man said backstage before walking out to the ring.

When the crowd heard the theme music for the next competitor, they immediately went silent. The newfound confidence in Black Mask had vanished in an instant.

The man making his way to the ring was none other than the current SWF Universal Champion, King Kamehameha.
