As Black Knight's match had finished up, Black Mask walked out to the ring to congratulate his comrade on his victory.
"Good job, Knight. I'm glad to see you get the victory over that treacherous coward. I knew we'd need to take him out eventually, but I'm glad it was you who did it." Black Mask said as he gave Black Knight a pat on the back. To which he replied with his usual silent nod.
The rest of the nights matches progressed without much happening of note. Night Queen had a match as well, but her match was an easy victory against an outmatched opponent. The main event of the night was Black Mask vs. Tex Lunger, which was a title eliminator bout to decide the next man to challenge for the SWF Universal Championship.
"Now ladies and gentlemen! It's time for the moment that you've all been waiting for!" The announcer said as the lights dimmed in the building. "Introducing first! he stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing in at 255 pounds, fighting out of Juarez, Texas! it's.... The invincible!"
"What!"
"The incomparable!"
"What!"
"The indomitable!"
"What!"
"Black! Mask!"
"What! What! What!"
"Now introducing his opponent, he stands 7 feet 1 inch tall weighing in at 425 pounds, fighting out of Austin, Texas! It's "The Texas Tank" Tex Lunger!!!!"
Lunger came out to an explosive roar from the crowd as the match just so happened to be taking place in his hometown of Austin, Texas. He came out wearing the colors of the local university and did the hook 'em horns salute on the way to the ring.
As Lunger entered the ring, Black Mask joined in on the salute as he put his hand up with the pinky and index finger extended.
"Oh I see, a lot of people forget because he spent most of his childhood growing up in Mexico, but Black Mask is a native Texan himself so he's showing his support for the local school as well. Wait a minute he's not doing hook 'em horns, he's doing, horns down!" Bill announced.
Black Mask then flipped his hand and put it down. This was a gesture that opposing teams would use to disrespect the longhorns. This led to an eruption of boos from the crowd.
"Wow, I don't think I've ever heard a crowd turn on someone so quickly." Bill added.
"I'm more of a Baylor fan." Black Mask said dryly.
"You're making a big mistake making me angry." Tex said with an intimidating glare.
"I doubt that." Black Mask responded with a smile. "It'll be more fun to win over a crowd that's against me." He thought.
The fight started with both men running straight towards each other. They both attempted shoulder tackles but the collisions canceled each other out causing the two to remain standing in the center of the ring. Tex tried another tackle but was caught by Black Mask who then hit him with an Impailer DDT. Black Mask tried to cover but was immediately thrown off by Tex.
"Whoa! What an incredible opening exchange of moves! This match just started and it's already action packed!" Ted announced excitedly.
The two continued to exchange blows, with Black Mask having the upper hand in both the striking and grappling, though Tex landed his fair share of attacks. Tex swung at Black Mask with his fist, but he had dodged it and countered him with a drop kick that floored him.
When he got up, he pointed at the center of the ring and stood there seemingly in anticipation.
"Whoa! Tex is challenging Black Mask to stand and trade with him in the center of the ring! But does he have the guts to take him up on the challenge?" Bill asked.
Black Mask simply nodded and stood next to the massive man, Tex, and the two began to exchange blows with no attention paid to defending at all. Eventually they began to throw punches into each other's faces while both men had a single collar tie.
"Oh my goodness! This match is turning into a hockey brawl!" Ted shouted.
Black Mask eventually got the better of the exchange and dropped Tex to the canvas. Although he had a clear advantage in the match so far, he was still being slowly worn down as well. The more he wore down, the more Tex was able to land his own attacks in their exchanges.
"It looks like Tex is finally taking control of this match." Bill announced.
"Tank Cannon Barrage!!!!!!!!!!!"
Tex then ran the ropes while hitting Black Mask with a barrage of shoulder tackles. The attacks were too quick for Black Mask to react to and he was starting to accumulate some damage. After Tex had finished his technique, Black Mask leaned against the ropes and tried to regain his bearings. Though Tex didn't give him the opportunity to do so.
"B-52 Bomber!"
Tex lifted Black Mask overhead and threw him into the air, he then jumped over him and slammed him back into the mat with an elbow drop to the back of his head.
"Oh! Tex is starting to land some of his signature techniques, now he's got Black Mask laid out on the mat and he covers!" Ted announced.
"1!"
"2-!"
"And he kicks out at two! Tex is threatening to end this match!"
Tex then grabbed Black Mask by the throat and lifted him up over his head.
"This is Tex's most brutal finisher! It's the."
"Texas Chokeslam Massacre!!!!!"
Tex had slammed Black Mask down with a vicious chokeslam and then lifted him back up slammed him down several times. He then lifted him up and wrapped both hands around his neck.
"Oh! After giving Black Mask a vicious beating with those chokeslams, he could just go for the pin but he's choking him with both hands instead! You have to wonder what his intentions are here. Remember, he just got off a suspension for killing his opponents in the ring intentionally. I hope that's not what he's trying to do here." Ted said.
"Of course he's not. Why would you think something like that?" Bill asked, seemingly offended by the implication that Tex was trying to kill Black Mask.
In the face of these harsh circumstances, Black Mask simply, smiled.
