Chapter 443 - Absolute Confidence

The mission from the previous day left no marks.

No serious injuries. No prolonged tension. Just clean execution and a calm return. Even so, I woke up earlier than usual.

Not out of concern.

Out of reflection.

I went down the stairs in silence. The house was still quiet. The soft morning light slipped through the window gaps, drawing discreet lines across the floor.

I prepared tea without making noise and sat at the table.

I thought about the road. The ambush. The speed with which everything had been resolved.

At another time, I would have analyzed every detail searching for flaws.

Today, I simply recognized the stability.

A little later, I heard light footsteps.

Liriel appeared first.

"You woke up early."

"Yes."

She sat beside me without saying anything else for a few seconds. Her presence was silent, but firm.

"Are you thinking about the mission?"

"I'm thinking about how simple it was."

She tilted her head slightly.

"Because we are strong."

"Because we trust."

She smiled faintly.

"That too."

Rai'kanna came down soon after, stretching her arms.

"I slept better than I expected."

"After combat?" Liriel asked.

"After easy combat."

Lyannis appeared holding a small notebook.

"I mentally reviewed our formation. There was no unnecessary overlap."

Elara came right behind her, hair still slightly messy.

"I barely needed to adjust my position."

Vespera came down last, already completely awake.

"The level of synchronization reached a new stage."

I looked at all of them.

None seemed worried.

None seemed tense.

It was as if the fight had simply been a natural part of the routine.

"Did you notice?" I asked.

"What?" Rai'kanna replied.

"There was no hesitation."

Lyannis placed the notebook on the table.

"Hesitation occurs when there is doubt."

"And there wasn't," Liriel completed.

Elara sat down.

"I didn't even need to wait for instructions."

It was true.

There were no loud commands.

There was no need to reorganize in the middle of the action.

Each one knew exactly what to do.

And more importantly.

Knew what the other would do.

Rai'kanna crossed her arms.

"You have that expression you get when you reach a conclusion."

Maybe I did.

"I realized that I no longer feel concern before a mission."

Liriel frowned slightly.

"Is that dangerous?"

"It's not carelessness."

Vespera answered before I could continue.

"It is consolidated confidence."

Lyannis nodded.

"The difference between arrogance and confidence lies in the technical foundation."

Elara leaned forward.

"Do you think we're too confident?"

I thought for a few seconds.

"No. I think we're confident in the right measure."

Rai'kanna smiled.

"Finally."

She had always sought security on the battlefield. Not recklessness, but firmness.

Before, I constantly felt the need to predict everything alone. Analyze every variable. Anticipate every risk.

Today, I knew I didn't need to carry everything.

Not because the dangers had diminished.

But because the strength of the group had increased.

We finished the tea and decided to train briefly in the courtyard. It wasn't heavy training. Just movement. Fine adjustment.

We took our positions.

This time, I observed more than I participated.

Rai'kanna and Liriel exchanged controlled blows. Clean movements, refined technique. No ego contest. Just improvement.

Elara fired at improvised targets while Lyannis created small variations of wind to alter the trajectory. Elara adjusted automatically, without complaining.

Vespera observed energetic patterns around us, identifying micro variations in the flow.

I remained in the center.

I realized something simple.

There was no evident fragility.

Each of them had evolved not only in strength, but in mental stability.

After a few minutes, Rai'kanna interrupted the training and pointed at me.

"You still haven't said what you concluded."

She knows me well.

I took a deep breath.

"I believe that if something truly big appears now, we can face it."

Silence.

It was not a sentence spoken with arrogance.

It was an observation.

Liriel lowered her sword.

"You're saying you truly believe that?"

"Yes."

Lyannis closed the magic circle she had been forming.

"Without reservations?"

"Without."

Elara walked toward me.

"Even if it's bigger than the dungeon?"

"Yes."

Vespera watched my face carefully.

"The conviction is genuine."

Rai'kanna opened a satisfied smile.

"That's what I wanted to hear."

I knew that sentence could sound dangerous.

But it wasn't carelessness.

It was a clear understanding of our current position.

We are not invincible.

But we are prepared.

We went back inside after the training.

The house was illuminated by the midday sun.

We sat again in the living room, this time in comfortable silence.

Liriel placed her hand over mine.

"I believe it too."

Lyannis agreed.

"Our probability calculations for success have increased significantly."

Elara laughed softly.

"She always talks like that."

Rai'kanna stretched her legs on the floor.

"I just know I don't feel fear like before."

Vespera concluded calmly.

"Fear has been replaced by readiness."

That was the word.

Readiness.

We do not seek conflict.

But we do not avoid it.

We do not react with desperation.

We respond with clarity.

While observing each of them there, I realized that my greatest change was not physical strength.

It was shared confidence.

I trust them.

They trust me.

And all of us trust the group as a unit.

That is the strongest foundation we have ever had.

The world may change.

New threats may arise.

But today, for the first time since everything began, I feel something that is not tension.

It is certainty.

Not of automatic victory.

But of real capability.

If the next challenge comes, it will not be a surprise that destabilizes us.

It will simply be another step.

And when the night began to fall, I realized my mind was light.

Not because of naivety.

But because of clarity.

Absolute confidence is not shouting that you can defeat everything.

It is knowing, silently, that you are ready to try.

And today, we are ready.
