Chapter 95 - KRYPT-Ch.95: I'll Kill You Later

Matthew Atkinson & Natalie Russell

Third Layer of the Supernatural Realm

On both sides of the giant stage, two flags were planted.

The flag on one side read "Defend the Ring".

The flag on the other side read "Deathmatch".

Even before the Deathmatch Mode started, a heavy and chilling atmosphere had already begun to spread throughout the arena.

"Matthew…"

Upon seeing the words "Deathmatch," Natalie's pretty face could no longer maintain its composure.

She had been eliminated, so she did not get any notification from the Supernatural Realm.

However, her hearing was excellent. She had heard the conversations around her and knew what Deathmatch Mode was all about.

"They said there's no surrendering in Deathmatch Mode. Why did you choose that?"

The girl looked very worried.

Filip Walker and the others also looked at Matthew in disbelief.

"Because I promised your father that I would take good care of you."

Matthew laughed and said, "Anyone who dares to hurt you, I'll definitely make them pay the price. I can't let them get away."

"Matthew…"

Natalie was very touched, but also a little regretful.

He helped her bandage her wound in the team's room earlier, and since Matthew wanted to see it, she could let him see for a little longer...

"Don't worry. If this were a gathering of top experts, I definitely wouldn't dare to be so suicidal. But we're all freshmen, and I believe that none of these people can kill me."

"And also, I chose Deathmatch Mode to scare off the human participants. I don't want to eliminate them all if possible..."

As Matthew spoke, he stood up and said to everyone, "I'm going on stage now. Don't worry, I'll be back soon."

After these words, his figure disappeared from the seating area and appeared in the Deathmatch Ring.

...

When the Ring Champion Matthew appeared, everyone in the arena had their eyes on him.

On the human race side.

"It really is him? Has this pretty boy gone mad? If he wants to die, he doesn't have to do it this way."

"I'm not surprised he did something stupid. After all, he'd give away the Flame-Flame Fruit; he must be out of his mind. What I'm wondering is, how could Natalie agree to let him do this?"

"That's right. Ring Champion title requires the support of the entire team, doesn't it?"

"Hehe...maybe Natalie is already tired of him and wants to find a new favorite, so she sent this silly boy to his death."

"Can't you use your brain? All of his team's points are on his shoulder right now. Doesn't Natalie even want those points anymore?"

"Captain, should we strike first and kill him? I estimate that Natalie's team has around 20-30 points. If we take him down, our ranking in the human zone will rise to first place."

"...Don't rush. Since he dared to come up, he might have some trump cards. Let's see what happens first."

Similar discussions arose in many of the groups.

Those qualified contestants, still eager to participate, watched Matthew with growing anticipation.

After all, Matthew's team must have accumulated quite a few points to have gotten this far.

Once they win, they'll definitely be able to catch up with Victor's team, which was in first place on the human zone rankings.

Even Victor himself was considering taking down Matthew in advance to solidify his team's own ranking.

However, most of the final-round participants on the human side ultimately chose to remain on the sidelines and observe.

'Better safe than sorry.' They thought.

If Matthew were really hiding something, it would be very dangerous for them to go up there.

Because in a deathmatch, no one was allowed to surrender.

It was best to consider this carefully and observe first.

Of course, everyone was different, and not all of the humans thought this way.

Some idiots with significant point differences couldn't wait to jump out.

They believed that Matthew's emergence was their only chance to catch up with the first rank.

At the University of Cambridge's team's sitting area.

"Marcus, look. Several people entered the stage..."

"That green light user... isn't he the States' rising star? Why is he in such a hurry?"

"I recognize the guy on the left wearing a kimono. He's a famous Japanese freshman, and a troublesome one at that."

"Marcus, they definitely want to beat Matthew and go for the championship. Should we go for it too?"

The last sentence came from a burly man.

This person and Marcus Kelly were the only two remaining contestants on the team who had advanced to the final round.

Upon hearing this, Marcus Kelly hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and said, "We are all in the human camp, and we are all from the United Kingdom. We can fight among ourselves, but if we kill each other in front of outsiders, wouldn't that make us a joke for those demons and monsters?"

"Besides, I have a feeling that Natalie's pretty boy is probably not so simple. Let's wait and see."

He was the captain.

Now that he had made the decision, others should at least show him some respect.

Therefore, Marcus Kelly and his teammates made no moves for the time being.

...

On the stage.

After Matthew took the ring, he did not rush to provoke others. He wanted to see how many demons and monsters would come up.

Unexpectedly, instead of demons and monsters, some humans rushed up eagerly, wanting to take his life.

Matthew's face darkened, and he was furious.

They were facing foreign races right now. Was it really necessary for them to jump on stage so early?

His gaze turned icy as he looked at the humans who had rushed onto the stage.

There were about twenty humans on the stage with him right now.

Matthew knew very few of them.

He vaguely remembered the skinny, short guy on the left; he was a celebrity from the Philippines.

The one emitting green light was very conspicuous; he's the USA's rising star, "Green Lantern".

However, the one leading the charge at this moment was a guy wearing a kimono.

"Very good."

Matthew's gaze grew increasingly cold.

Since these people wanted to die, he would definitely grant their wish.

The only thing that made him feel somewhat fortunate was that none of the twenty-odd people who rushed up were from the United Kingdom.

Seeing the people rushing towards him, Matthew made a move.

-Boom

Matthew lifted his foot and stepped on the ground.

Around his feet, the ring's solid surface cracked inch by inch, spreading like a spiderweb.

Such power startled humans.

The momentum of more than twenty people charging forward came to an abrupt halt.

This was precisely the kind of deterrent effect Matthew wanted.

He didn't want to fight these people right now, lest he reveal his strength and scare away other monsters and demons.

He needed to lure the other races down first.

Especially that three-eyed demon.

Once there were enough participants, he could wipe them out in one fell swoop and earn lots of points.

"You all stay put for a while, I'll kill you later," Matthew said coldly.
