I woke up with the sun hitting my face maybe i should think about buying a curtain because the previous viktor always needed to wake up early it was never a problem before but now that i dont have to stand up early it would be nice to buy one.
When i fully woke up i noticed that i once again didnt have any dreams related to the abyss it seems like the corruption is weakening.
when i stood up i looked at my lip in the washroom it had a small bruise because yesterday after going home i still decided to go for a small walk and look if i find someone to fight which i did eventually but they got a lucky hit on me.
I won without many problems but i did notice that in the fight yesterday i had a easy fight but i often underestimate my enemy after a while when im already sure to win i should be careful to not make it into a habit.
I made myself breakfast again today although it was really nice to eat outside yesterday its better to make your own food since its cheaper but every once in a while i could go out to eat.
After eating i decided to do some useful things today first i want to get a newspaper subscription and then maybe get a curtain because i dont always want to wake up because of the sun.
i went outside and wanted to go immediately to a good newspaper company but once i got outside i wasnt sure where to go to.
Not only do i not know the way im also not sure to which newspaper i want to take a subscription on since there are multiple newspaper companys.
I decided to just do the newspaper company that i have already read one newspaper of the company was called backlund daily tribune in the past in viktors memory it was also one of the more known newspapers.
Because i didnt know where the company is to get a subscription i decided to ask random strangers on the street if they knew although most would ignore me or just say they dont know or dont have time there were a few who talked to me about what they knew.
Of course its quite normal for most to not want to deal with me since in the perspective of the stranger in east borough at best they will waste a bit of their time which could have been used to work since almost everyone in east borough had problems with money and only barely survive and at worst they even get robbed or threatend since although rare there are a few thugs who try to get a stranger to talk to them and then threaten them to get money out of them and although there is a police station in east borough even multiple they really dont put in that much effort.
Soon i found out that atleast one of the newspaper stations from the backlund daily tribune was on the backlund bridge so i decided to get a carriage driver and drove there.
I wasnt to early and saw that the bravehearts bar was already opened so i went inside to talk to kaspars since i still dont have a way to know when the next gatherings happen although its unlikely to have a gathering happen today or tommorow since im here already why not ask.
I went to the bar keeper and ordered a southville bear although i thought about ordering something else i didnt want to end up with something i disliked.
"is kaspars here already?"
"are you going to come looking for him everyday kid?"
"maybe i will"
"hes in card room 1"
"thanks"
I went with my beer and entered the card room.
I saw kaspars playing cards with someone whos similiar to kaspers in age he had a white beard and wore a hat so i couldnt tell what hair colour he has or if he even has hair i almost wanted to ask if he also sells information.
"hey kaspars i wanted to ask if you have any info for the next gathering"
Kaspers looked a bit startled he then stood up and took me by the arm to another room.
"kid are you crazy dont talk about things like that in public i almost got a heartattack"
"sorry i forgot but do you have any news?"
"im glad that i do because it would be very annoying to have to deal with you daily the leader of the gathering told me to give you a letter give me a second i have hidden it somewhere else"
And with that kaspars went to look for the letter i wonder whats going to be inside i hope its not that im not allowed to go to the gathering anymore or something like that.
Soon kaspars came back with the letter in his hands i wonder where did he hid that well i guess its normal for information sellers like him to have a place where they hide the money they make not only that the police dont find a lot of money if they were to search in his house but there might be a foolish thug who might try to rob him and not having money to much money with him wouldnt be bad.
"heres the letter kid but one more time i will warn you dont get to close to such people beyond human limits it most often ends with death"
"thanks for the warning but do you know whats written inside the letter?"
"no i dont obviously if i knew it i could have just told you rather than get the letter"
And with that kaspars went away he seemed not to curious about what was in the letter.
I opened the letter i was a bit nervous although i didnt find the gathering to important before i have my wendigo eye i cant be thrown out.
What it said although wasnt negative but rather something very welcoming.
"if you want to join our future gatherings buy a subscription to the backlund morning post because when theres an advertisement for the purchase of goods by the ernst Firm on the fifth page it means that a beyonder gathering will take place on the next day on evening on the fifth page the prices are also important because we also have a knocking code the strength and the frequency of the knocking is based on the prices listed The first number is the number of heavy strikes The second number is the number of light strikes The third number is the number of long pauses and the fourth is the number of short pauses The rest are meaningless"
Now that i think about it i think there was something like that in the novel although i find the knocking code quite annoying the gathering is quite safe from officials but i wonder why did he already give me that letter does he already think i can be trusted?.
Well i guess its good that i didnt do a subscription to the backlund daily tribune yet if i had went to the newspaper office first and then went to bravehearts bar i would have been quite pissed off.
I then went and found kaspers once more.
"is there something you still need from me?"
"yeah do you know where the nearest backlund morning post office is"
"eh well i know that theres one on the backlund bridge but im not sure where"
Well i guess its normal for an information seller not to know things that they cant sell.
With this i went outside and thought about asking strangers but then i got an better idea i went to a tramp on the street.
"for 2 soli can you show me where the backlund morning post is?"
"eh for real?"
"yes"
And with this i followed the tramp the office was farther away than expected it took about 30 minutes of walking to get there after giving the tramp his deserved reward i went inside the building to get my subscription.
