The wheel chair crossed the streets, being pushed from the back Faris enjoyed the view whist speaking with Bairen
"There haven't been any funders threatening to pull back since that day" said Faris
"They must be too afraid to come forth with such offers anymore" replied Bairen pushing the wheel chair as the body guard walked beside them "Perhaps they think of us to be the informers"
"Most likely…" replied Faris
It went silent once more, Bairen spoke breaking it apart
"So, you still think of me as the snitch"
"Well—Sigh I just can't wrap my finger around it" replied Faris "The capital continues to make worse decisions with each passing day, as if it is on purpose"
"And you still chose to come to it regardless of how bad the info we got about it back in the market" said Bairen "Why?"
"I love this place of course" replied Faris as they continued beside the garden of hanged flowers
"But why bother to bring such a big caravan alongside you here" said Bairen "You could've come empty handed, wish would've been both faster and cheaper. And it is not like you have none to trust back there"
A girl came rushing towards them, a youngling holding a little basket of flowers, after all this is the coloured street of theirs
"Sir, would you be interested in some flowers of mine" her smile was both innocent warm
"Of course, my child, how much for the full basket?" said Faris
"We don't sell them we are merely gifting them" replied the girl
"I Can't possibly take it for free" replied Faris "At least allow me to donate"
The girl seemed deep in thought, her mind went blank as she stared the flowers consternated, she spoke regaining both her thought and tongue
"Okay, but you make only take a flower each, that is all" she said smiling at them
"Give me three then" said Faris pulling out a dozen of silver coins from his pouch
"No…" said the little girl smiling up at him holding the three flowers
"What do you mean child? We agreed I'd donate?!" asked Faris
"You may do so, but not in a dozen" said the little girl "A copper, a Silver, or A golden coins, one, that is the allowed amount for each full trade"
"You can't be asking me to merely pay for the three of them in bulk? And I don't have any gold on me" replied Faris searching around having only silver and gold in there
"I don't think flowers are that expensive… are they?" asked their guard leaning down with his eyes close to the basket as the girl pulled it away
"It is not about the price, but the principle behind it" replied Faris
"What principle?" asked his guard
Stopping the conversation she said "A silver will do"
"But I don't want to feel so cheap…" said Faris searching from one pocket to the other
"Here" said Bairen to the girl, in his hand he held a golden coin
"But that is your own, isn't it?" asked Faris "You can't waste that"
"It is okay, not like I use it for anything" said Bairen
"Thank you" said the little girl taking it, she then proceeded to hand them a flower each
She gave the guard a camellia flower
"Beautiful one indeed" said Faris
Then she gave Bairen a red spider lily
"This just excites me for mine"
Handing Faris a Rose her hand was stopped by the guard without sing hurtful force
"What is wrong?" asked Faris
"It is thorny" replied the guard
"But—But I, I chose them carefully, for each one of you, Sob, Sob" as the girl was about to cry
"No, No, don't cry, we'll take it" said Faris trying to console her "He'll just—Keep it safe for me"
"Sob, Sob, so you'll take it? you smell and take care of it eventually?" said the little girl
"Yes, I'll do so" replied Faris "In fact, this one will stay in my office until other ones bloom out of it"
"Sob, okay" she replied throwing the golden coin in between the flowers inside the basket before running towards the women surrounded by other children just like her
"She threw it inside the basket…" said Bairen
"It must be because she came having not the thought that she'd be paid" replied Faris "Anyways let's go back for now"
As they attempted going back Bairen glanced at the girl one last time, staring the basket she held, the other kids with her surrounding the women as each of them spoke creating a little chaos of theirs
The woman noticing Bairen waved at him with a smile, just for him to leave without any words
Catching up to Faris he spoke saying
"So, what is your answer to what I asked earlier?"
"Hm?" Faris looked back at him "Oh, that"
Taking a breath while staring down he spoke
"My legs don't work the same anymore, the same can be said about my eyes. I can barely guide myself through an empty street let alone a crowded one. My hands are too weak to hold a pen"
Bairen stared him as he continued on
"There was once a time when I had those stuff, but I did not have a thought in mind about how important such stuff are, we never cherish such things until it is too late"
Bairen was silent, and so was Faris, the sound of wheels mixed with the crowd's footsteps. A weird silence went by before Faris spoke once more
"I am old, I am no fit in this generation, all their tricks and ideals. I tried my hardest to push myself in and feel a fake since of belonging, wasted efforts it was"
"I decided to leave such ambitions behind and go back home, although what I left behind is evidence of how I cling to my youth"
"Until you came to my life" said Faris finally wearing a real smile "I guess I am… curious"
Bairen asked with confusion "Curios?"
"Yes, curios" replied Faris "About how you'd deal with this generation, what will your decisions be, what are your motivations"
"The only motivation that drives me forward right now, is not being killed by the king or his henchman" replied Bairen
"That… Is good enough" said Faris
By the time the moon's claws tore all light from the sky darkening the blue of it into a creepy shade of black. Bairen was with Faris at his office, completing some paper work
"That makes it" said Faris taking a loud Sigh stretching his arms and leaning backwards
"So should we go now?" asked Bairen collecting the papers
"Let's go eat something, I am hungry" replied Faris as they left the room turning the torches off
The room was silent for a moment, Bairen came back at an instant saying "I forgot about it I'll bring it now" to Faris who was by the door on his wheel chair
He went to the table taking some papers and as he wanted to go back he noticed movement by the rose that Faris bought this morning
"What is that?" he asked himself going closer
Suddenly a rat came from behind the pot
"Disgusting" said Bairen before his eyes noticed the shocking thing, the rat's feet were ones of a frog
"What the!" said Bairen before it jumped towards the ground, avoiding each hit it climbed the wall somehow and fled using a crack in the window
"What happened?" asked Faris entering through the door alongside his bodyguard
"I… Don't know" replied Bairen staring the window "We might need a reconstructor, and someone who knows about Rodentia"
In the streets the little creature continued to slip through the people. after passing through some shallow spaces, it turned into a cat with a dog's tail, then a little bird who flew away from the crowd
Changing his shape whilst not being able to perfect whatever form he chose, the mysterious creature reached its wings to a tower where only the moon light was
A crow's wings, a chicken's feet, and a human's body and face, expect for the eyes, wish he chose to be an owl's
Looking to his left and right he searched desperately between the random faces, but he did not seem to find what he wished for
"The Varish is clean as well, time to roam the greens" he said before flapping away crushing his size so he won't be seen
