Chapter 693 - Chapter 692 – The Wandering Earth!

Before departing, Yuzhou made a special trip to the Moon.

The Space Garrison base constructed by Belial was essentially a miniature imitation of the Land of Light.

More than half of the Moon's surface had been covered in crystalline structures. Even the Plasma Spark Tower was nearly identical to the one in the Land of Light.

"Take this."

As Belial spoke, he handed Yuzhou a pillar-like torch of light.

"This is…?"

Yuzhou stared blankly at the glowing torch in his hands, momentarily stunned.

He was extremely familiar with this object.

It was none other than the core of the Plasma Spark.

"This is a failed prototype from my earlier research," Belial explained.

"It can provide illumination and a small amount of energy recovery."

"Isn't this similar to the one Masaki gave me before?" Yuzhou recalled.

Nevertheless, since Belial was offering it, Yuzhou accepted without hesitation.

He attempted to store it in his spatial ring—and just as expected, it behaved exactly like the Plasma Spark core Masaki had once given him.

The Moon's construction was nearly complete. After estimating the progress, the two concluded that in about two more months, the base could be officially relocated there.

During their conversation, Belial also demonstrated his current combat strength.

By drawing energy from the Plasma Spark, he fired a beam that obliterated a small asteroid in a single strike.

Among the Ultra Brothers, only Zoffy's M87 Ray was capable of such raw destructive power.

For Belial to reach this level was already remarkable.

As for Belial's curiosity about Yuzhou's current strength—Yuzhou declined to demonstrate.

The reason was simple.

He did not want to crush Belial's confidence.

The spatial vortex opened precisely at 9:00 a.m. on the thirtieth day.

Without hesitation, Yuzhou stepped into it.

...

The moment he emerged from the vortex, the temperature plummeted violently.

A wave of biting cold and raging snowstorm slammed into him.

Had it not been for his extraordinary physique and abilities, he would have been frozen into an ice sculpture on the spot.

What greeted his eyes was a vast, endless expanse of snow and ice.

"Is this… a frozen Land of Light?"

After a moment of confusion, Yuzhou noticed a massive structure ahead—sealed deep within the ice.

"This is…"

His lips parted slightly in shock.

The structure's exposed tip was unmistakable.

He had seen it in his own world.

It was the Oriental Pearl Tower.

Which meant—

He was standing in Shanghai.

However, unlike his world, the Oriental Pearl Tower here was buried beneath layers of ice, with only its uppermost section exposed.

"And not just the Pearl Tower…"

Surveying the surroundings, Yuzhou's expression grew solemn.

The entire city of Shanghai—every building—was frozen beneath the ice.

"Could it be…"

At this point, Yuzhou already had a strong guess.

This was not an Ultraman world.

This was a world where the Sun was dying, where humanity had installed engines on Earth itself and set out to escape the Solar System toward Alpha Centauri.

This was—

The Wandering Earth.

"So I ended up here…"

Yuzhou nodded to himself and took a few steps forward.

He was standing atop the roof of a skyscraper buried in ice.

This rooftop had effectively become the new frozen ground level.

Below this building stood Shanghai's most iconic landmark—the Oriental Pearl Tower.

Despite the howling wind and snow, Yuzhou's superhuman hearing picked up sounds beneath his feet.

"There are people down there?"

Light particles wrapped around his body as Yuzhou walked to the edge and looked down.

Below lay an icy canyon.

Three damaged transport vehicles were parked at the base of the building.

However, the sounds were not coming from the canyon.

They were coming from inside the building beneath him.

After a brief pause, Yuzhou surrounded himself with light and floated toward the centre of the structure.

Spotting a shattered window, he entered directly.

The building had been abandoned long before the global freeze.

Even if anyone had remained, they would have long since frozen to death.

Yet the sounds persisted.

Listening closely, Yuzhou detected shouting, metallic impacts, and even the roar of a Gatling gun firing.

"Old man!"

As he drew nearer, a shout rang out, followed by the screech of metal grinding against metal.

"An elevator?"

Stopping before a set of elevator doors, Yuzhou did not hesitate.

He punched straight through them.

Leaning forward, he looked up.

A man in a protective suit clung to the elevator shaft wall with a steel claw, his other hand hammering furiously at the elevator door below him.

A rope was tied around his waist.

At the other end of the rope hung an elderly man, also wearing a protective suit.

Both were under immense strain.

So focused were they that neither noticed Yuzhou's arrival.

Clang. Clang. Clang.

The steel claw struck again and again.

The younger man was desperately trying to open the elevator door.

But time was running out.

Yuzhou heard the unmistakable sound of the elevator cable snapping above.

"Young man… let go of me!"

The elderly man spoke with resignation and sorrow.

But the younger man did not respond.

He continued pounding.

Finally, the elevator door burst open.

With a violent motion, the younger man threw the old man inside.

At that very instant, the cable completely failed.

The elevator car plummeted downward like a runaway train.

"Gangzi!"

Someone screamed from above the shaft.

The old man, hearing the screech of the falling elevator, stared blankly into the shaft.

The young man had sacrificed himself… to save him.

The young man looked up.

The falling elevator was already right above him.

He knew it was impossible to survive.

Slowly, he closed his eyes, waiting for death.

Bang!

A dull impact echoed.

But there was no pain.

Confused, the young man opened his eyes.

Before him stood a man in a T-shirt, his body wrapped in radiant light.

And this man—

Was floating in midair, casually holding the massive elevator above his head with one hand.

"…Are you a god?"

"…Am I in heaven?"

The young man's thoughts completely short-circuited.

"You're overthinking it," Yuzhou replied calmly.

"You're still in the human world."

The shock on the man's face was exactly what Yuzhou expected.

After all, no ordinary person could witness such a scene without being utterly shaken.
