•Colson•
I can't believe her face is among the ones I see as soon as I get back. Seriously! The business trip was already a stressful experience, yet I come back only to experience worse.
When she didn't show up at the airport to pick me up as my grandmother had planned, I was actually glad.
She barks after my family like a dog in leash so much it irks me. Always willingly acting like their puppets, butt licking them and selfishly acting out their requests.
If her face was the first thing I saw as soon as I descended my flight, my whole day would've been ruined.
Not that it already isn't.
The only part that made me upset was that she didn't call Tate to inform she wouldn't be coming. Because of that, I had to remain stranded for a while until Tate came to get me.
Insulting!
However, that awful experience immediately vanished when I saw Willa. Her radiant eyes glowed with love when she saw me.
Her smile was bright which fluttered my heart in the midst of my plight.
At first, when grandmother told me about allowing her to stay with me, I was shocked and in disbelief.
My relationship with Willa has never been approved, so it came as a surprise to me.
If grandmother was going to allow us some leniency, I might as well take it. So I approved.
Whether or not Leiara liked it, her say holds no weight.
When I arrived and was welcomed by Willa, I was simply going to continue my day without uttering anything to that woman.
But as always, her shamelessness only grows.
She came out with just her night dress that exposed some part of her pale body.
Why? To seduce me?
Shameless!
No matter how much I make it clear that she holds no place in my heart and never will, she refuses to accept it.
Seeing her was already a bad experience, but still, I decided to keep calm and just ignore her.
But then she pushed her limits.
She dared touch me.
As if that wasn't enough, she pushed herself backward and made herself fall down the stairs.
Always acting pitiful, always acting the victim and always trying to draw attention to herself.
I don't know what she wanted to tell me but whatever leaves that mouth of hers are nothing but fabricated lies to gain sympathy.
As always, I put her in her place.
She's speechless when I do, and only remains sitting on the floor with her head dipped to hide her shame.
Her presence alone irks the life out of me. And I knew any more minutes in her presence would run me out of my senses.
I turn away after making it clear I will never give her the attention she wants.
Ugh! I'm so tired. I need to blow off some steam.
Leiara•
Without another word, he turns and leaves.
And I let him, without any words as a counter.
My gaze is simply cast low as I remain on the floor, eyes hidden beneath my pale blonde hair that pours forward.
Can things get any worse for me?
Willa•
Joy!… is what I feel whenever I see Leiara suffer.
That face of hers that tries hard to mask her pains, but fails woefully, stirs an inexplicable sense of satisfaction within me.
Seeing Colson treat her like a bug almost made me laugh out loud, but I can't break character in front of him.
He sees her no more than a scheming white lotus, and a woman with no self respect. And honestly, I can't be more glad.
Colson puts her in her place harshly before he walks away.
I stare at her, smiling wide as she hides her expression behind her flowing hair.
I don't go to her. I stay back to watch her helpless figure on the floor moments longer. Can't deny I'm more than pleased.
After a while, I approach her.
"With the way you act so dignified in public, I thought you had a happy home and almost got jealous, hahah," I laugh to her face.
She doesn't respond. Her gaze remains lowered.
I go closer to her front and squat in front of her.
"You aren't crying, are you?" I tilt my head lower to see if I can catch a glimpse of her face.
But her hair totally covers it.
I crave to see her face since the agony she carries on it is what I feed from.
I reach out my hand to her face and lift up her chin. Her pale face comes into view and a bright smile stretches across my lips.
Finally!
Although there is not a speck of tears in her eyes, her pain clouded face is enough for me.
Before I can get a longer look at her, she slaps my hand away.
Her gaze turns fierce, eyes cold.
"Hahaha," a little chuckle of nervousness leaves me.
The pleasure building inside me from her sorrow immediately drowns as she turns cold.
This is always what I hated about her. It has always annoyed me.
No matter what pain she's going through, she never cries. I have never seen her cry.
She fights a lot to keep her emotions in check. To save face. Even though she's awful at it and it can still be seen, she never stops to try.
But even when she isn't good at this, and fails to properly hide her pains, she's an expert at not crying.
No matter what she's subjected to, she refuses to break down totally.
This side of hers stirs up my desire to break her. To make her wail.
As she glares coldly at me, my lips twitch, angered.
I can't bear to not see pain on her face. To wipe off this cold glare off her face, I start.
"How was I? Pretty smart, wasn't I?" I ask.
Her stern face breaks briefly because I notice a swift twitch in one of her brows. With that, I know she already understands what I'm talking about.
So I continue.
"It didn't even take much effort to get the maids on my side. I only showed them different photos of Colson and I being lovey dovey, and they instantly switched sides."
I giggle softly with my hand to my mouth.
"Do you wonder why?" I ask.
But before I answer, I tuck some strands of her hair behind her ear so as to get a better view of her face.
Can't afford to miss any reaction.
"It is because they know that Colson will never be that warm toward you. So they had to play their cards right and side with the person that will soon be in power."
Her expression doesn't change. There's no reaction from her. She simply gazes straight at me with blank eyes.
But I continue regardless. Because she's bound to break at some point.
"And honestly, they're lucky. You know, no matter how righteous a person might be, they would do anything to protect what they value. And to these maids, it's their jobs."
"Why?" I ask.
I tilt my face, unable to contain the smile that keeps stretching over it.
"Did you think you'd won them over already? That they'd always be on your side? Oh c'mon! You aren't that competent, haha."
I cackle to her face.
"In these seven months, Lei, seven months! You haven't been able to dominate anything in the house. If it was me, I'd have only needed a month. Just one month."
I raise my index finger to demonstrate a 1 in front of her.
"But know this Leiara. Even if you have, I plan to undo all your impact, your influence, your presence, everything, one by one. I will unravel them all and dominate everything with mine."
I push near and lower my mouth to her ear to whisper every word clearly.
"And soon, you'll see yourself back in your father's house. And the only thing to your name will be the divorce papers."
