I let Leiara get down on the pathway while I pull into the driveway. I finish parking the car and start heading for the house when I hear Willa's voice.
She sounds angry and harsh as she demands answers from Leiara. Answers to crazy questions, if I dare term them.
I don't know why Leiara doesn't respond or yell back the same way Willa is yelling at her. But I guess it's because she sees me coming and wants to maintain her innocent image.
She's always alert, trying to come off as the best girl. Totally unlike Willa that is genuine and honest about her feelings.
I step forward to the door and take place beside Leiara. As soon as Willa sees me, she turns soft. I see a flash of panic and fear when she realizes I might've heard her.
She jumps into my arms all giddy and her countenance quickly turns bright. I know she's scared that I might find her actions displeasing, which in some way does seem unpleasant to me.
Because why would she be so agitated and ask questions like that? Asking if Leiara takes her chance to seduce me when she's asleep.
Am I that bad of a person that my morals can be easily questioned?
I get a little upset at this, and for a moment, I stare coldly at Willa. When she sees I'm not reciprocating the hug like I always do, she pulls away.
She lifts her gaze to meet mine and when she meets my cold stare, she quivers.
Seeing her scared and whimpering instantly softens my resolve. She's so cute, I can't help it.
Plus, I'm certain she's very tired right now. After all, I exerted her a lot last night. I don't even know why she's out and stressing over some meaningless things.
Her legs seem weak and my cold stare makes it worse.
I'm also aware she acted agitated because she loves me. People tend to act like this when they feel threatened about losing their loved ones. Her jealousy caused her to act like this.
And… I'm pretty sure Leiara isn't the better person either. It's clear that if I wasn't here, or she hadn't seen me coming, she would've lashed out back at Willa.
My gaze softens at Willa. I reach out my hand and gently caress her cheek. She flinches at my touch, surprised that my cold gaze has turned warm and soft.
"Why are you out and about?" I ask.
Unlike Leiara, who is very strong, Willa is fragile. I worry for her health.
"You should still be in bed resting after our session last night."
She turns red instantly, shy at my blatancy which causes me to chuckle lightly.
I pull her in gently, and peck her forehead.
"Common, let's get you some more rest."
I pick her up bridal style and start carrying her up to our room. She wiggles and laughs as we go because I keep tickling her with my face.
Haa! If not for that woman, I will be openly living with my Willa and not have to hide her like this.
Leiara•
I watch as Colson and Willa head up to their room. Their chuckles are loud and quite grating. They are beaming with happiness.
And as he carries her bridal style, Willa wiggles her feet like a child. They seem to be in their own world, acting like I don't even exist.
I don't say anything. I don't dare. They seem so happy that I fear a single word from me would ruin the atmosphere.
I'm the harbinger of sorrow and sadness to them, after all. I just need to stay quiet and hope they don't notice me.
After they fade from my presence, I breathe out the breath I've been holding in. Couldn't afford to be noticed.
I go up to my room and change. Since there's no work other than the function this evening, I decide to rest instead.
I have to replenish my energy to dispense later at the function. But first, I need to take my meds.
I have the maids bring me some food. And after that, I take my meds. Before I nap, I make sure to bolt my door.
Since Colson is home, I don't think Willa will try any of that trick today. So I can be rest assured.
On my alarm clock, I set the time to 18:00. The function will be held at the Hayes mansion. It's quite far from ours and Colson and I need to arrive early, hence the alarm.
I can't risk oversleeping.
I get under the blanket and it doesn't take long for me to drift off.

I don't know how but I slept really well. Haven't had this good a sleep for a while now.
I stir slightly on the bed, my ears being buzzed by the repeated singing of the alarm. If not for it, I know very well I would still be sleeping.
Sigh! For some reason, I don't want to wake up. But I have to.
I stretch on the bed, tossing and turning to get my body moving. But I flinch in shock when I turn to the door and meet a figure standing there.
Colson.
My heart lurches, because what the hell is he doing just standing there?!!
