Liang Jing City,
Duke residence.
Hanrui slowly woke up from his sleep and noticed the pillow moving ever so slightly and instantly recognized, he was sleeping in a lap pillow.
'Hm? When did I fall asleep on someone's lap? Haven't I slept on the bed hugging Na'er?' He thought, confused.
"You are awake." Came a voice from above his head, while a slender hand started caressing his hair.
"My Apologies, have I woken you up?" the voice continued, still caressing his hair.
"Na'er." He called out instantly, recognising her voice as he smiled.
"Good Morning, Na'er." He said as he slowly got up from her lap and sat up straight.
Gu Yuena nodded her head lightly as she replied in an amused tone. "You slept for so long, so I moved your head to my lap. And it's afternoon, not morning."
Hanrui laughed, not feeling a shred of embarrassment.
"Well, what can I say, I was feeling lazy and didn't want to wake up." He shrugged.
"I actually woke up before you, but I couldn't and didn't want to stop the laziness from claiming me. So I fell asleep again." He continued, making Gu Yuena chuckle.
Hanrui suddenly recalled something and said, "Oh right, I forgot. It's almost time to go see Old Poison."
"Did you wait for the last 15 months at home and not go anywhere, just for this?" Gu Yuena asked, surprised.
"Well, not exactly. Remember Mother had already reached level 80 when we came back? And I asked her to wait for father to catch up to get the Soul Ring together?" He said.
'Well I did send my shadow clones to do stuff, like sending the little rabbit to the academy to observe that brat Tang San and his… ahem master, teaching the botanical team so they can participate in the tournament and so on…' He thought.
"What does that have to do with you meeting that old guy?" She asked, confused.
"..." He looked at her speechlessly.
"Yuena, did you forget? I have told old poison I'll meet him in 3 years and visit his garden?" He asked.
"I remember you saying that, but I still don't understand what you mean." She replied with a pout, feeling frustrated at being talked in circles.
"Sigh, I thought you would be able to figure it out by now. After all, I did share the memory with you.
Anyway, It's important because, Father and mother will get an upgrade in Soul Power and talent while, You get to meet two old friends in the process." He explained.
'And I have a feeling there is a surprise waiting for me there.' He thought.
Gu Yuena raised an eyebrow at him as if to question him. 'Old Friends? I don't have any friends, I have the most loyal subordinates.' She thought smugly while feeling a faint emptiness inside her heart.
Then she thought about his words to distract herself from the feeling and suddenly something clicked in her mind.
"You mean, Fire and Ice Dragon Kings?" She asked in surprise.
'I didn't pay attention to that part and almost forgot about it. At this point in time the souls of those two should be still intact, though barely.
Although revival is not possible with their identity, brother Hanrui might have a way and plan for them.' She thought.
Hanrui nodded in affirmation as he said. "That's right. It's them, you finally realised it. Were you not paying attention to the memories? It's like you didn't even know their existence until now?
I thought you would be glad to know their location."
Gu Yuena averted her eyes in guilt as she stood up. "I'll go and inform father and mother you are awake and have the maids ready the carriage. Come to us after you are ready." She said and scurried off.
Hanrui looked at her behaviour speechlessly then started laughing, making her ears turn red in embarrassment as she heard his laughter.
Hanrui quickly got up and bathed and ate his fill before finding his family, playing Mahjong without a care.
"Sigh, you guys are quite carefree, playing Mahjong and not keeping me company." Hanrui said as approached them.
'I really regret sending those 4 to manage the Alchemist Guild.' He thought as 4 people came to his mind.
'Well, not 4 but 2, after all, why would I feel sad about sending Da Ming and Er Ming to a remote place to work for me?
It is just that Bi Ji and Zi Ji volunteered to do it so I kinda miss them now.' He thought.
Just as he was lost in thought, Xue Li made the finishing move and said "And... that's a full house! Mahjong!" Deciding her win.
Then she turned to Hanrui and smiled as she got up from her seat and ruffled his hair. "Well, certain someone was sleeping so soundly, we didn't dare disturb that person." She teased.
Hanrui rubbed his nose in embarrassment, then quickly turned into a cat and hopped onto her head. "Well since the game is finished, let's go, it's time to get Soul Rings for mother and father." He said, completely ignoring her teasing, trying to shift the topic.
Wu Tian who was depressed at his upteenth loss looked at the pair of grandmother and grandson and smiled, forgetting the gloom.
Han Mei and Gu Yuena's eyes lit up as they instantly appeared on each side of Xue Li and started patting him.
Hanrui felt speechless as he looked at them.
"You two can do this later, can we move on? How long are you two going to make Nai Nai stand?" He said making the duo come back to their senses, withdrew their hands and looked away, like they don't know what he is talking about.
