Chapter 154 - Chapter 153 Taking Her Flying

Dane flew neither fast nor slow, allowing Mera time to feel the wind blowing on her.

She looked quite excited; if Dane hadn't been there, she probably would have started shouting and screaming on the spot.

Dane then flew higher, soon approaching the clouds. Seeing the sea grow further and further away, Mera, while excited, couldn't help but feel a little panicked.

She had never seen the sea from such a height, let alone from so high up, so it was normal to feel a bit of acrophobia at first.

But soon she no longer had to worry about that, because they had already reached the clouds.

White clouds surrounded them, blocking the view below. Mera curiously reached out her hand.

Her hand swept through the clouds, feeling cool and refreshing, and a fresh mist of Water vapor hit her face.

If it were an ordinary girl, being so disheveled would certainly cause dissatisfaction, but Mera was different. She was a person who lived in Water, and this unique sensation only made her feel very comfortable.

"Is this what clouds are?"

Like a child, she seemed to try to grab the clouds, but when her hand went through, there was nothing but Water.

Dane couldn't help but smile.

Mera heard him and felt a little embarrassed. Dane saw her ears turn as red as her hair.

They continued to fly upwards, soon passing through the clouds and reaching the troposphere.

Mera saw a sight she had never witnessed in her life: a clear blue sky above, and a vast, white sea of clouds below.

The sky was azure, and beneath her feet was a pristine sea of clouds.

At this moment, Mera felt a bit disoriented. She was having trouble distinguishing between the sky and the sea.

Dane let go of her hand, and magic light shone from his hands. A White wizard's robe detached from him, and this cloak, enchanted with flying magic, flew onto her.

Mera's hand was released, and she subconsciously reached out again, as if afraid he would suddenly abandon her.

But she quickly reacted, wanting to let go but also afraid of falling.

Dane smiled and said, "Don't worry, my magic will protect you."

Mera hesitantly let go of his hand and found that she really didn't fall. Moreover, she could move freely as if she were in the sea.

She couldn't help but swim in this sea of clouds. Dane followed behind her, maintaining the magic on her.

Mera sometimes leaped out of the sea of clouds, sometimes plunged into it, and sometimes poked her head out from beneath the clouds, looking down at the sea below, then darting back into the clouds as if startled.

Dane, watching from the side, found her incredibly interesting, much more lively than the person he had seen in the movie in his previous life.

After playing for a while, Mera finally remembered she had serious business to do and looked at Dane with a bit of embarrassment.

"Sorry, I, I've never seen such a view."

She sat on the sea of clouds, looking at the blue sky in the distance. She thought the sky was beautiful.

Dane smiled and said, "It's alright."

But Mera was, after all, a relatively disciplined person. She quickly composed herself, then returned to Dane's side and proactively offered him her hand.

"You can actually go faster, can't you?"

Dane was too embarrassed to tell her that teleportation was actually faster.

So he could only say, "Hold on tight. This time will be faster than you can imagine."

Mera nervously gripped his hand, but when Dane truly accelerated, she realized the extent of their speed—even sound couldn't catch up to them!

She couldn't even hear her own voice. The wind pressure was strong, but under the protection of the White robe, it didn't hinder her to the point of being completely immobile.

So Mera couldn't help but reach up, grabbing Dane's arm, but after only a few minutes, they stopped above Amnesty Bay.

The transition from motion to stillness was instantaneous. Mera, experiencing this speed of travel for the first time, felt a little dizzy.

Dane cast a healing magic, making her feel instantly better. She turned her head and gave him a grateful smile.

Dane returned a smile, then scanned Amnesty Bay with his Hawkeye.

Soon, he spotted Arthur and his father, standing on the cliff edge, watching the commotion.

Dane also saw the garbage piles around the coastline, but that was garbage thrown by Surface Worlders, and they certainly had an obligation to clean it up.

The United States has always prided itself as the World's leading power, so taking the lead in addressing this problem is perfectly reasonable, isn't it?

Without even showing his face to the citizens, he flew directly towards Arthur and his father.

Arthur quickly saw him. He pulled Thomas along to look up at the sky.

Then the father and son saw Shazam descend from the sky with a girl, and their expressions were a bit subtle.

Arthur was full of questions. "Weren't you going to deal with the tsunami? Why did you bring back a woman?"

Thomas, on the other hand, looked at the woman, and the more he looked, the more her attire resembled what Atlanna wore when he found her years ago.

Both were tight-fitting, with scale-like patterns. He instantly realized that the other person and Atlanna probably came from the same place.

So the middle-aged man's mood suddenly became a little agitated.

"Let me introduce you."

Dane first pointed to Arthur: "This is Arthur Curry, Atlanna's eldest son, the person you're looking for."

Mera looked at Arthur and couldn't help but frown. This was Arthur? He looked terrible.

Well, Arthur's usual life was indeed quite... rugged. His full beard was never trimmed, and he probably fell far short of the fated prince Mera had imagined.

Dane then pointed to Thomas: "This is Arthur's father, Thomas Curry, and also Queen Atlanna's..."

He didn't know how to describe it. If he said they were husband and wife, Atlantis hadn't recognized it.

And Atlanna, not being a Surface Worlder, obviously couldn't have a legal wedding with him here.

So he simply didn't say, knowing Mera would understand.

Mera merely nodded politely to this person. In fact, as a princess from a formal aristocratic education, she did not approve of Atlanna's relationship.

If she hadn't violated the royal decrees, she wouldn't have been exiled to the Trench territory, ultimately meeting a fate of being utterly destroyed.

Then Dane introduced Mera's identity to the father and son, "This is Mera, the Princess from the undersea kingdom of Xebel."

Mera then spoke: "I also lived by Atlanna's side for a period of time."

Thomas immediately rushed forward excitedly: "Atlanna, she... how is she now?"

Mera looked at his face, already etched with the marks of time, and felt somewhat reluctant to tell the truth.

Although she didn't approve of his love with the Queen, this man was undoubtedly the Queen's beloved. The truth was too cruel; could he bear it?

Dane, beside her, ignored her internal struggle and spoke directly to Thomas: "Thomas, please rest assured, Atlanna is well. We will find her."

He offered a few words of comfort, even using some of the dream stone's power to slightly reassure Thomas.

Mera saw his agitated mood calm down and quietly tugged at Dane.

"If you deceive him like this, he will suffer even more when he learns the truth."

Dane said in surprise, "I'm not deceiving him. Queen Atlanna is indeed not dead."

This time it was Mera's turn to get excited: "What did you say? Is what you're saying true?"

"Calm down. I'll explain this to you later. For now, let's go back to the Hall of Justice. Vulko is probably getting anxious waiting."

...Vulko was indeed very anxious. He didn't know what the situation was like in Amnesty Bay, and more importantly, he didn't know how Arthur was doing.

"No! I can't just wait here. I need to go and see what's happening!"

Actually, if he had just called Cortana, he would naturally have known the situation in Amnesty Bay, but unfortunately, he didn't know much about Surface's AI technology.

But he didn't manage to leave. Just as he decided to depart, Dane returned to the Hall of Justice with his party.

"Mera? What are you doing here?"

Vulko was very surprised to see Mera.

Mera, on the other hand, looked at Dane, somewhat dazed.

So he could teleport directly... Thinking about how he had just taken her flying in the sky, Mera now wished she could find a hole to crawl into.
