Chapter 143 - Chapter 142: Spirit of Kandake—Egyptian Girl

After obtaining the dream stone, Dane almost immediately found its first target—Kahndaq.

But before that, Dane had to find a way to appease Diana; she was very unhappy that night.

And there was only one way for her to vent her dissatisfaction: you had to subdue her in both outdoor and indoor battles.

Fortunately, Dane performed well on both battlefields.

It wasn't until after a long and intense battle that Diana finally calmed down.

Although Dane was very curious about what she was thinking, he wouldn't be so foolish as to break that unspoken understanding.

Anyway, a harmonious life was the most important thing.

After he resolved things with Diana, he set off for Kahndaq... Meanwhile, Arthur Curry, who had returned to Amnesty Bay, had been restless lately.

That strange dream had been bothering him, and he really wanted to believe its contents, but his reason told him not to act rashly based on a dream.

What if he really followed Dane's advice in the dream and went to the Justice League, only for them not to recognize him at all? How embarrassing would that be!

So the safest thing to do was to ask Vulko first and find out what was really happening with his mother now!

Was she really exiled, as the dream said?

However, Vulko had only been able to meet him after long intervals lately, and he didn't know what was going on.

After waiting for a long time, almost until sunset,

Arthur finally met Nuidis Vulko, his mother's most loyal subordinate.

Vulko was a middle-aged Atlantean. As an Atlantean noble, Vulko could breathe freely in an environment without seawater.

So it had always been he who taught Arthur how to live like an Atlantean and how to fight using the trident.

This was a skill that all previous Kings of Atlantis had to master, showing how high Vulko's expectations for him were.

"Arthur, I saw your message. Do you have something important?"

Because they couldn't meet often and communication devices from the Undersea and the Surface were incompatible, they lacked convenient means of communication.

Therefore, they agreed that if there was an urgent matter, they would leave a message at their usual training spot for their next meeting.

That training spot was a very hidden space underwater, where no intelligent life other than marine creatures existed.

As soon as Arthur saw Vulko, he eagerly began to ask, "Vulko, where exactly is my mother? Was she exiled?"

Vulko's expression changed drastically, and he blurted out instinctively, "How could you... You couldn't possibly know!"

Hearing this, Arthur immediately became excited, which meant this matter was true!

His mother's exile was true, so the dream's claim that his mother was not dead was also true!

This was exhilarating news!

However, Vulko's heart grew heavy. The fact that Atlanna was exiled to the Trench Kingdom was only known by people from the Undersea Kingdom.

Moreover, discussion of this matter was forbidden. Which scoundrel not only met Arthur but also told him about it?

Vulko did not have the ability to foresee the future, nor did he know the plot like Dane, so he had always believed that Atlanna had died in the Trench Kingdom.

He couldn't be blamed for thinking this way; anyone who had seen the movie knew that the Trench Kingdom was an ecological disaster.

What kind of abundant marine resources could sustain tens of thousands of such sea monsters!

Did they rely on cannibalism to maintain their species' continuity?

Atlanna not dying was truly a massive plot armor given to her by the screenwriter.

Vulko grabbed Arthur's arm and asked him nervously, "Arthur, tell me, who told you this news?"

He was afraid someone was plotting against this big oaf.

Arthur, however, smiled at Vulko and patted his shoulder forcefully.

"Relax, Vulko, this is a good thing!"

Vulko almost thought he had gone mad, but Arthur quickly followed up with the rest of his explanation.

"Someone told me in a dream that my mother was exiled to the Trench Kingdom, but he also told me that my mother is not dead!"

Upon hearing this, Vulko did not become as happy as Arthur expected; instead, he frowned.

"A dream?"

He was about to say that dreams were nonsense, but then he reconsidered. What kind of dream could fabricate parts of Atlanna's story so accurately?

Vulko was sure he had never told him about the Trench.

Considering that the royal family possessed the bloodline of Poseidon, Vulko suspected this might be a premonitory dream, so he did not voice his doubts.

Arthur nodded excitedly: "Exactly! And the person in the dream told me that he knows my mother's exact location, and he can help me rescue her!"

"Wait a moment!" Vulko immediately cut him off. "Who is this person in your dream that you speak of?"

Arthur scratched his head: "I don't know if you've been keeping up with information from the land lately, Vulko, but he's Shazam from the Justice League!"

"Justice League? Shazam?" To be honest, Vulko had never heard of them.

Although he opposed Orm's war against the Surface, deep down, Vulko did not like the people of the Surface, let alone pay attention to their affairs.

His understanding of the Surface was still stuck in the last century, believing that their technology was far inferior to that of the Undersea people.

But he didn't know that since the last century, humanity already had the ability to annihilate all creatures in the ecosystem.

Alright, Arthur didn't have too much hope for an Atlantean either. He used the most concise way to increase his persuasiveness.

"Shazam possesses the power of six gods and is the Guardian of magic!"

At this, Vulko's attitude became serious. If this statement was true, then the veracity of the other party's words was very high.

However, the premise was that the other party was indeed as Arthur described, so Vulko simply said:

"Arthur, if I'm not mistaken, you want to go find him, right? Take me with you!"

Let him see with his own eyes whether the other party was real or fake!

...Kahndaq.

After nightfall, Dane arrived at the top of the Guardian's stone statue.

He took out the dream stone and held it high; the power of the dream instantly radiated across the entire city.

The citizens of Kahndaq, active at night, were completely unaware, but the city had already fallen into a dream.

Dane's figure moved, instantly transferring to the World of dreams.

In the dream, an identical but empty city appeared before him.

"Come out. There's no need for you to hide here anymore."

As soon as he finished speaking, Kahndaq stirred like a living thing. Dane flew into the sky, overlooking the entire city.

The modern city gradually transformed, as if time was flowing backward through her.

In just a few minutes, Kahndaq seemed to travel back a thousand years to its most prosperous era.

The towering royal palace and the giant twin stone statues were her most prominent symbols, embodying the beauty of art and order to the fullest.

Dane flew down and landed in the palace square. Every brick and tile here was as exquisitely carved as if meticulously crafted. The palace was magnificent, and gold artifacts were everywhere.

Gold was ubiquitous here, yet it did not appear vulgar.

Additionally, there were many agates, jades, and various precious gems and pearls adorning it.

Entering the palace, one could see a colossal dining table laden with all sorts of tropical fruits and various seafood delicacies.

The fragrant aroma of local grape wine also wafted through the air.

Dane picked up a golden wine goblet, took a sip, and the sweet wine slid down his throat, stimulating more saliva secretion.

This beautiful dream was so overly real that it became unreal.

"Are you satisfied?"

Dane turned his head and saw an Egyptian-style beauty walk in.

She looked very young, at least younger than Dane's current appearance.

This was a young woman with ancient Egyptian facial features: a high nose bridge, slender eyebrows, and skin so perfect that not a single pore was visible.

She had shoulder-length black hair, with many braids tied on both sides, adorned with golden hair ornaments as thick as a pinky finger, arranged in an orderly fashion.

Her complexion was wheat-colored, and her figure was not petite; instead, she had a tall and athletic build.

Her attire was very similar to that of an ancient Egyptian noblewoman, light and form-fitting, subtly revealing endlessly suggestive scenery, possessing a beauty like a pipa half-hidden.

Most striking were her eyes, as black as midnight, yet seemingly containing a myriad of stars.

She was Kahndaq, the Spirit of this city...
