Thinking of how similar these powers were to Shazam's, Shayera began to suspect she might have done something foolish.
So she quickly spoke to Gabriel: "Wait! There might be some misunderstanding between us…"
But Gabriel didn't believe a word of it; seeing that she was already at a disadvantage, you're only now telling me it's a misunderstanding.
Do you expect me to believe you? You must think I'm an idiot!
With that thought, Gabriel not only didn't stop but swung her greatsword even more fiercely!
Seeing that she couldn't convince the other party, Hawkgirl could only grit her teeth and continue fighting.
Fortunately, her pure N-metal battlesuit had excellent defense and could completely block Gabriel's slashes.
"Please calm down, I told you this might be a misunderstanding!" Hawkgirl shouted at her.
Gabriel sneered: "Then tell me, who are you? You can't possibly be from the Justice League, can you?"
Hawkgirl was choked by her words; although she had the intention of joining, Shazam hadn't actually given his nod yet, so the public didn't know her identity.
Ultimately, she hadn't been on Earth for long, and besides Shazam and some members of the Justice League, no one knew she was an alien.
Seeing the other party speechless, Gabriel grew even more suspicious of her words; lightning flashed on her two-handed greatsword, sending Hawkgirl flying again.
She indeed had a unique way of using energy.
"Let's see how long your armor can hold up!"
Gabriel continued her relentless assault, but she was very careful to avoid areas where ordinary people gathered, trying not to let their battle affect civilians and buildings.
So they fought higher and higher, almost crossing the atmosphere; fighting here was a huge test of their stamina and endurance.
At this point, Hawkgirl's physical advantage became apparent.
She was a female warrior trained on Thanagar; even without her battlesuit, she possessed extreme combat power and didn't rely purely on armor.
And Gabriel?
She had the training of a warrior, but this body was just that of an ordinary young girl and couldn't withstand her excessive use.
So very quickly, despite having every advantage, Gabriel gradually began to fall into a disadvantage.
"Damn it! If only I hadn't lost all my power, how could I have…"
Gabriel was extremely unwilling, but the fact that she lacked experience in defeating the strong with the weak was undeniable.
Having only fought overwhelming battles in the past, she was now learning how to use combat wisdom, but would her opponent give her a chance to grow?
Hawkgirl had no idea of her situation; seeing that words were completely useless, she could only try to subdue the opponent first.
Moreover, having fought to this extent, she was also getting a bit carried away, and her attacks were inevitably a bit reckless.
So she took the opportunity to further deplete Gabriel's stamina, then raised her heavy hammer and charged it again, a dazzling White light glowing on the round hammer.
Gabriel knew that a big one was coming.
Then let's try it!
With a fierce resolve, she raised her greatsword and began to charge it as well, White lightning condensing on the blade, also emitting a dazzling White light.
She was going to clash head-on with the opponent!
Then, the two N-metal weapons clashed.
In terms of strength, Hawkgirl's warhammer was harder, but in terms of energy output, Gabriel's greatsword was stronger.
So after a huge impact, the result was a mutual defeat.
The immense recoil temporarily stunned them, splitting them into two symmetrical parabolas.
At this moment, Dane returned and saw the two falling from the sky.
"Such a handful," he sighed, then flew up.
He first caught Gabriel, who was closest, then used Mercury's divine speed to chase after Hawkgirl in the distance.
With the energy provided by the dream stone, his speed was faster than before; those below could only see his afterimage.
In just a few seconds, he crossed the entire Gotham and embraced the falling Hawkgirl.
Logically, no man would be unhappy in such a scenario, but both of them were wearing N-metal armor, which was truly uncomfortable.
So Dane quickly found a place to set them down.
At this moment, the two, past their dizzy spell, regained consciousness.
"Dane?"
"Shazam?"
Hearing a sound nearby, they immediately assumed combat stances again.
Dane stood in the middle as a peacemaker: "Stop! You're all on the same side."
Gabriel looked at the opposite side in surprise, finally putting down her weapon, and said discontentedly: "Even so, she shouldn't interfere in my business!"
Shayera was also a bit annoyed: "I just saw a crazy woman randomly killing people in the street, so I wanted to stop her."
"Who are you calling a crazy woman?"
"What if I am?"
"Want to fight!"
"Bring it on!"
Saying that, the two again assumed combat stances.
Dane simply grabbed both of their wrists, one in each hand, and dragged them away.
They couldn't resist this powerful force, so they could only play a game of glaring at each other, neither willing to yield.
By the time Dane brought the people back to Gotham, the other members of the Justice League and the Birds of Prey had already resolved the city's unrest.
They were waiting at their original gathering spot for Dane to return from the dream.
Nightwing, with his sharp eyes, immediately saw Dane flying from the distant horizon, holding two beautiful women, one on each side.
He whistled and couldn't help but say, "Impressive!"
Then he felt several gazes of Death, shivered, and looked back, finding Wonder Woman and some members of the Birds of Prey.
A string of question marks slowly formed in Nightwing's mind; this couldn't be what he imagined, could it?
Then Shazam would be incredibly amazing!
As soon as Dane landed, he saw Diana's displeased gaze, and of course, a pair of good girlfriends from the Birds of Prey, though they were not as obvious and bold as Wonder Woman.
He discreetly let go of their hands and then walked into the Justice League's ranks.
"I haven't formally introduced her to everyone yet, this is Hawkgirl, a Thanagarian, an alien like Superman and Martian Manhunter, very powerful, and she is willing to join the Justice League."
He made the introduction because some in the Justice League didn't know her yet, such as members of the Bat-Family.
And the members of the Birds of Prey.
Harley's eyes darted back and forth between the two newcomers and Dane.
She had a gut feeling that these two were probably more than just new teammates.
Then Dane introduced Gabriel: "This is Gabriel, that's right, you didn't mishear, the Angel from the Bible."
Sure enough, everyone looked at her with surprise and astonishment.
Everyone had heard of Angels, but this was the first time they had seen one in person.
Although Shazam had already shown that gods exist, this was the first time everyone had seen a truly ancient mythical figure.
"She was punished for certain things and left in the human world, but she will not join the Justice League; she has her own things to do," Dane said.
Batman cast a suspicious glance, not doubting Gabriel's identity, as he had already witnessed some of the divine and ghostly things in the Magical Realm.
He suspected what crime Gabriel had committed that would cause God to banish her to the human world; this seemed to be only one step away from the Fallen Angels!
He had a hunch that the other party was definitely not a peaceful individual.
Batman didn't know yet that Gabriel had already gone on a killing spree in the city; otherwise, he would probably treat this woman as a high-risk target immediately.
But he didn't know, so he only paid slight attention to Gabriel, his focus still on Dane.
"Where did you go with that person?" Sure enough, he wouldn't be at ease until this matter was clarified.
"We were gambling for the ownership of this," Dane said, taking out the dream stone.
Having just dealt with Destiny, no one present didn't recognize this item, and all felt a sense of dread.
If Destiny had only just gained control of this dream stone, and had he been more familiar with it, it's estimated that everyone present would have been brainwashed by the dream stone's power and become his loyal followers.
Batman immediately said, "This thing is too dangerous!"
"But it's also very useful, it just needs more proper safekeeping," Dane said, outlining his plan.
"I received a divine office from Morpheus… that person just now, he is a Dream God; I received a divine office from him.
Now I control a small dream, and I will keep the dream stone in the dream, so people in reality cannot obtain it."
This plan sounded feasible, but the problem was that it was in Dane's sole possession.
But considering Dane's actions in recent years, which were all legitimate, Batman didn't say anything.
After all, the power of the dream stone did sound very strong, and rather than leaving it in the hands of the inscrutable "Dream God," it was better to have it in the hands of the Justice League…
