Catherine's POV
"I want to announce our marriage to the world". He said suddenly and I looked up sharply at him. He was neither smiling nor looked like he was joking, definitely he was serious but I was skeptical. Of course there was no reason to not tell but what if the truth gets discovered?.
"Why all of a sudden?" I asked.
"It's not sudden, I should have done that a long time ago but I didn't want it to affect you negatively". He explained and cocked his head to the side.
"Are you sure that's why? Or it would affect your relationship with your girlfriend". I blurted out, it was meant to be an internal thought but I said it out loud anyways. The laughter that echoed out of his study yesterday still annoys me which was unusual. It's petty to get jealous of something like this.
We are not in a real marriage or in love with each other, why is his engagement with another woman stings to witness.
He smiled at what I said, subtle and annoying.
