Iris:
Lara had been awkwardly staring at Kash.
She blinked a few times and then sniffled as if she were about to cry, but I did not see any tears.
She was more embarrassed than hurt. She stormed off toward the mansion without saying another word.
It was then that I turned to look at Kash slowly.
"It is fine, I can take care of Luca," I told him quietly, ready to lift Luca's arm and guide him myself after opening the door.
I did not want Kash to be in trouble because of me.
"No," he replied in a tone that left no room for argument, and then he gently brushed the back of his hand against my arm to move me aside.
He positioned himself in front of Luca's seat, slipped his arm under Luca's, and pulled him out of the car.
Luca leaned heavily against him, almost lifeless. Kash carried most of his weight with one arm and steadied him with the other.
As he began to stroll him inside, I followed them.
