For several seconds Michael gazed at Ava quietly. Just as his lips were about to part, she beat him to the punch.
"After all the time we've spent together, I think it's safe to say I know just how dense you can be... or at least how much you like to pretend to be oblivious while remaining perfectly aware of everything around you. So let me make this clear." Ava whispered.
"I love you… This is a confession."

Michael blinked slowly, his mind reasoning. Then he thoughtfully retorted.
"Come on… I am not that dense, nor would I act ignorant in such a situation." He replied, though he didn't seem offended.
Ava giggled charmingly.
"Just making sure… you do tend to be full of surprises."
Her eyes trailed down his chest. Slowly she reached out and gently undid the top button of his shirt.
