Chapter 272 - Forming His Own Spider-Man Alliance

"Hmm," Strange didn't say anything, seemingly accepting Peter's dimension-hopping antics.

He continued, "As far as our world is concerned, Infinity War is the biggest crisis we'll face."

"But why do I feel like Thanos wasn't that strong?" Peter thought about the battle with Thanos, feeling puzzled.

To put it bluntly, if he, with his current Venom Suit, met Thanos back then, he could even solo him!

This gave him a feeling of "that's all there is to it."

Strange shook his head slightly, "You know, actually, regarding this Infinity War, I once saw 14,000,605 future outcomes, but only one of them was a victorious ending, which is what the Sacred Timeline recorded!"

"Ah?" Peter was very surprised.

Strange said, "In that ending, Thanos collected the six Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers, randomly destroying half the life in the universe. You, me, and many others would die in that snap. Then, Stark and the others would save us in a special way. Afterward, Stark would sacrifice his life to snap his fingers again, eliminating Thanos and completely winning Infinity War. It was supposed to be a tragic victory."

Peter frowned.

Regardless of whether the "story" Strange spoke of was true or false, he really didn't like the process and ending of this story at all.

"So, I'm a Variant, right," Peter said with certainty.

Strange nodded: "Yes, the change began the moment you appeared. And, as time passed, your weight in the 'future' grew larger and larger, but at the same time, the future became more and more confusing, until I couldn't see it clearly!"

"There are only two possibilities for a future I can't see."

"First, your future exists outside of this universe, and my ability to observe the future mainly comes from the Infinity Stones. The Infinity Stones are limited to single universes, so they can't capture your changes."

"Second, your future has been stripped away from the world's future by some even more mysterious power! And this mysterious power should be higher than the Infinity Stones, which is a single-universe level of power."

Strange didn't make it clear, but Peter understood.

Glow Web!

Still the Glow Web!

The Web of Life in the Variant Multiverse next door is already a structure built upon the multiverse.

And his own Glow Web and the Web of Life are similar and intersecting, possibly even overlapping, so it's at least a multiverse-level treasure.

So, it seems perfectly reasonable that the Time Stone, which is only at the single-universe level, can't detect the Glow Web.

Just like when Peter obtained the Power Stone, the Power Stone's ability couldn't enhance his control over the Glow Web, it could only enhance his physical strength.

Strange continued, "After the Time Variance Authority collapsed, the Sacred Timeline also collapsed, leading to countless different branches. Therefore, a multiverse war is inevitable! As a world that once existed on the Sacred Timeline, our world will inevitably be at the center of this multiverse war! Not long ago, I detected that at least one being with immense power has visited our universe through some means!"

"What should we do?" Peter's expression was solemn.

This sounds even more brutal than Infinity War.

Infinity War was, in the end, just a "minor skirmish" in a single universe, while now it seems like a contest between universes!

Should I form a Spider-Man League?

But I'm the only Spider-Man here!

Oh wait, if Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 94, and Superior Spider-Man, and those other Spider-Men whose universe designations don't have a "B" after them, are from the same type of universe as me, then perhaps the cosmic barrier between him and them isn't as thick as it is for Spider-Man 2099.

That being the case, it means he might actually be able to pull together a Spider-Man League of his own.

And, in his universe, there's Doctor Strange, the Avengers, Nova, and other protective forces, so overall, it should be pretty good, right?

Peter was pondering these things, but Strange thought he was worried about the future.

So, Strange comforted him, "Don't worry, the barriers between parallel universes aren't that easy to break. As long as we come up with a solution and strengthen our own power, it won't be difficult to deal with them. Moreover, because of your existence, the future of our universe has become unpredictable, which can cause those ambitious parallel universe visitors to lose any potential prophetic abilities about our future."

"After all, we don't rule out the possibility that some beings might come from our 'future era'."

Peter nodded, but he didn't bother to correct Strange's misunderstanding.

However, according to Strange, from another perspective, the parallel universe barrier isn't that easy to break, which means that those who can break through the parallel universe barrier and appear on their side are all rather troublesome existences.

"Strange, do you sorcerers have the ability to open parallel universe portals?" Peter asked curiously.

Strange was slightly surprised, then nodded, "Yes, we do, but we sorcerers have a code of conduct and cannot easily use this ability. Theoretically, each universe should just mind its own business and not easily interfere with the affairs of other universes. Because doing so would violate the Multiverse rules and lead to the collapse of the Multiverse. Only some special existences can be outside these rules."

Strange was hinting at something.

Peter smiled knowingly.

It seemed he was one of those so-called "special existences."

"Then what if I invite people from other universes to our universe?" Peter asked.

"You want to invite your friends from other universes over?" Strange was slightly taken aback.

Peter nodded.

He simply told Strange about his experiences in the Variant Multiverse.

However, he concealed the matter of the Variant Multiverse, only telling him that there was such an alliance formed by Spider-Men in the multiverse, which was used to deal with extradimensional beings and maintain the order of the multiverse.

When Strange heard that there was such an organization, he was also greatly surprised.

"Why have I never seen it?" Strange was still somewhat skeptical.

"Probably because you don't often investigate other parallel universes," Peter said vaguely.

"Alright, if it's them coming to deal with parallel universe visitors, that's not a bad idea, but are your friends really reliable?"

"Of course they are reliable, they're all Spider-Men!"

Strange: ? Why does it suddenly feel unreliable?
