Chapter 52 - Dug Out

The Black Boy looked at the web clinging to his clothes. Following the strand, he saw the motionless figure lying in the distance. After a moment of hesitation, he walked over.

The first thing he saw was a pair of pajama pants, then a large belly, and finally, a jacket. However, beneath the jacket, a hint of red was visible.

The Black Boy stopped, his gaze fixed on the person's hand.

That was where the web ended, and there was a web-shooter. "No way."

He crouched down and slowly pulled open the partially unzipped jacket.

Beneath it, was a Spider-Man suit! "Who are you?" The Black Boy's face displayed three parts terror, three parts confusion, three parts surprise, and one part joy, forming a black pie chart.

But he received no response.

This suspected Spider-Man had been paralyzed by the Black Boy's sudden electric shock. Although he was still conscious, his body was unable to move.

So, there's no way to answer!

As the saying goes: "Misfortunes never come singly."

Black Boy didn't wake up the guy who looked like Spider-Man, and Peter, who was in the coffin, didn't jump out either. Instead, the Fourth Party suddenly showed up.

"Stop! New York Police! What are you doing?" Two police officers ran over, shining their flashlights at the two figures on the ground.

Black Boy was shocked.

In his situation, he could be shot on the spot!

So, to avoid being chased by the police, he hoisted the man who looked like Spider-Man onto his shoulders, putting on a show on the streets of "The Boy Who Chased the Train… and the Hobo Being Dragged Along".

For a while, the whole street was in chaos.

It wasn't until much later that the farce ended. Black Boy carried the man, who had been forced from a paralyzed state into a coma, back to his own home.

And at this moment, Peter was still trying to open the coffin.

Dong dong dong.

Dong dong dong.

Half an hour later.

Clatter.

A figure descended from the sky and landed in front of Spider-Man's tombstone.

It was the Pajama Spider-Man, who had returned, and that Black Boy.

The Black Boy said, "Are you sure you really heard knocking from underground?"

Pajama Spider-Man said impatiently, "Why do you ask so many questions, you little brat? I'm absolutely, positively, one hundred percent sure that it was knocking, someone was calling for help! And, judging from the sound, it's right here!"

He pointed to the spot behind Spider-Man's tombstone, where the coffin was buried.

Black Boy asked, "You mean, Spider-Man is still alive?"

"Duh, I am Spider-Man. Are you trying to jinx me?" Pajama Spider-Man rolled his eyes, annoyed.

"Uh, you know I don't mean that. It's just... I saw it with my own eyes. Peter... he was taken by Kingpin," Black Boy said, "And it's been several days. If he was going to come back, he would have by now."

"Come to think of it, Spider-Man doesn't exactly have the power of resurrection," Pajama Spider-Man thought. He considered himself pretty knowledgeable about Spider-Man. After all, he'd been Spider-Man for 22 years, and at 39 years old, he was a very competent Spider-Warrior.

But he was certain that resurrection wasn't one of Spider-Man's abilities.

He crouched down, pressing his ear to the ground to listen carefully.

Boom-boom-boom, ta-da-da, boom-boom-boom.

Boom-boom-boom, ta-da-da, boom-boom-boom. Short tapping sounds came from underground.

"What's he doing?" Black Boy asked.

Pajama Spider-Man sighed. "He's calling for help. That's Morse Code for SOS. Go to school, kid, and forget about being a Spider-Man."

Black Boy was speechless. "But, with great power comes great respo-"

"Shut up!" Pajama Spider-Man snapped. "Don't say that in front of me! Don't even think about it. I'm sick of hearing it!"

Black Boy fell silent again.

After a moment, he asked, "So, are we going to save him? Could he be a zombie or something?"

Pajama Spider-Man hesitated. "Zombie... There probably aren't any zombie Spider-Men, are there? Let's save him. If things go south, we'll just bury him."

"He could also be a vampire. I heard that early vampires crawled up from the ground," Black Boy said, a little scared, his legs trembling. His mind couldn't help but dwell on terrifying things.

Pajama Spider-Man was a little speechless: "If you're so scared, why are you even thinking about that kind of thing?"

He paused, deep in thought. "But now that you mention it, Spider-Man could actually become a vampire."

"What do you mean?"

"Because in my world, a long time ago, there was this guy named Morbius. He became a vampire because I accidentally left some of my blood in the school lab for research. He accidentally came into contact with my blood sample."

"Ah?"

Boom, boom, boom, da-da-da, boom, boom, boom! The sounds from below came again.

The two looked at each other.

Pajama Spider-Man pointed not far away. "Miles, go distract those two cops. Give me ten minutes, and I'll get him out."

"Okay, alright." Black Boy Miles hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

The two of them split up to act.

Inside the coffin, Peter breathed a sigh of relief.

He had been struggling for half an hour without getting out, and he was about to give up.

Unexpectedly, they had actually heard the sound of him pushing the coffin and came back!

Since that was the case, he naturally had to try hard.

Fortunately, he had studied Morse Code when he was bored, and the people outside had also learned it. He didn't expect that he would actually manage to send out a distress signal.

After a while, the soil above was dug open, and a hand reached the side of the coffin board, pulling hard.

Boom!

The coffin board, along with the soil underneath, was all pried open, revealing a gap.

A head peeked out from the gap, sizing up Peter.

Peter also looked up, sizing up the head.

It was wearing a Spider-Man mask.

Peter: ?

Could there be two Spider-Men in this world???

Pajama Spider-Man: Holy crap, he's really come back to life!

"Who are you?" ×2

"Are you Spider-Man?" ×2

The two of them spoke in unison, forming a perfect understanding.

"No matter what, let's get out of here first." Pajama Spider-Man reached out and grabbed Peter's hand, pulling him out of the coffin.

Then, he stomped down, closing the coffin lid, and kicked it a few times to roughly cover most of the excavated soil.

After that, he used his web to pull Miles, who was almost caught in a trash can in the distance, and tossed him onto his shoulder: "Hold on tight."

Miles quickly grabbed him.

So, Pajama Spider-Man carried Peter on one shoulder and Miles hanging on the other, controlling the web with one hand, and left the scene.

Down below were two cursing cops.
