Raviel raced towards the: METRO TUNNEL,
as soon as he saw the sign, hequickly sped up towards the entrance as the horde of undead was coming closer and closer towards him with each passing second....
Raviel stopped for few seconds infront of the entrance—catching his breath, hesitating before entering as all he could see in the darkness was the jammed escalator and blood sticking on the sidewalls, which was barely illuminated by the purple light reflecting the initial parts of the tunnel entrance.
"HUUUUUUUUUURRRRGH—UUUH"
The horde's guttural screams pulled Raviel out of his daze,
"Fuck this, I will really die today huh...?"
His legs screamed in protest as the lactic was really doing it's work on them, as he ran down the escalator, his boots slipped few times on the wet surface. He didn't need to look—he already knew it was blood,
his nose was already overwhelmed by the putrid and rotting smell of blood.
"Shit, out of all places i am stuck in a zombie apocalypse"
His breath caught as he ran down on the seemingly endless escalator... but his leg's didn't stop. Thousands of those things were behind him and he could hear their growls echoing down the passage, every step he took was overshadowed by thousands of shrieks above as he moved downwards....
The 'Underground station' opened before his mind could even register the changes,
As it suddenly went from dark to light, the white fluorescent tubelights flickered in an uneven rhythm, but it displayed the carnage like a gallery.
The once-pristine tiles of the station were now covered in blood, dust and filth with handprints and trails dragged on the walls and tiles as if people had desperately tried to escape, half-torn posters and tickets were spilled on the ground.
And Silence....
In the silence Raviel's mind sprang into action—find something sharp that can cut, running blind is not an option in this kind of place.
While the irrational part was yelling—what can you even do Raviel when thousands of those are chasing you.
He ran towards the counter booth to search for anything metallic.
"GGGgggrrrrrrr——"
He froze.....
From the other entrance of a station a dog limped, seeing it's appearance in-between the flickering of lights made raviel shudder...
It's jaw was dangling as he walked, swaying with each step as only the muscles held it together, while one of the hind leg was twisted entirely till it faced the opposite direction. Drool was dripping on the floor with a splat~ and it's eyes were blackened entirely to the point where they camouflaged in the darkness.
"What the fuck..."
Raviel hurriedly ducked himself behind a ticket-counter pressing himself against the cold surface as the shards of the glass lay shattered on the floor, he forced his body to stay low as he watched the figure's shadow walking slowly towards his direction.
BA-DUMP.....BA-DUMP....
His heart started pounding as he watched the shadow getting bigger and bigger, In fear Raviel clamped a hand towards his mouth just to stop himself from making the slightest sound.
The dog stopped halfway, although a sound escaped from his torned throat—A growl mixed with a slight whimper.
The shrieks from the entrance tunnel behind the dog grew louder as the horde was pouring into the station.
The dog's ears perked up sensing the shrieks and tilted its head with an audible cracking sound...
Taking advantage of this moment Raviel didn't think, he just ran.
The second he saw the horde pour in the station despite the size of the entrance mixed with the cracking of bones, he audibly shouted.
Shit!, Shit!.....Shit!, He gasped for breath as each inhale was costing him time which he didn't have....
Raviel spotted something In the underground station shining with a faint blue—TO METRO PLATFORM.
He steered his direction towards left as he started sprinting towards the platform, but just as he was going to turn around a corner something latched onto his body from the blindspot—A woman or what was left of her——her body was covered in black bruises with deep gashes on her face with one leg the other looked like it had been removed as the muscles and bone on it were still visible.
The woman's jaw opened wide, just enough for him to see two canines heading straight towards his throat,
Raviel's mind blanked and pure desperation kicked in, he grabbed her hair with one hand and yanked it with enough force that made her mouth go away from his throat while his other hand teared off the torn part of his shirt and he jammed the fabric deep into her mouth, muffling her mouth and with a final push he slammed his body towards a wall which freed him from her grip.
The station walls blurred as adrenaline kicked-in again, he jumped through the debris and broken cement clusters and behind him the horde spilled into swarms as far his vision could see.
Then he saw it ——
A single metro.
Two carriages and one driver compartment, whose blue paint was now dulled to a lighter shade, its headlights flickered weakly as it shone infront of the tunnel.
Raviel didn't stop as he leapt across the precaution line which was centimeters away from the metros door,
Thud~
With a loud metallic sound, he closed the door and locking it with the latch.
He quickly went towards the control pannel, his hands flew off and tapped every button, switching on every switch on the pannel with trembling fingers.
"NO...NO...NO..NO." panic clouded his mind, seeing that nothing was working he pounded his hands on the pannel, teeth-clenched "Damn it...."
Something sparked at first and the whole pannel lit up, powering itself on.
A green light flickered faintly on the screen before him: POWER ON.
Relief barely struck but that to was gone when he heard the horde banging on the passenger compartment and as it powered on the passenger doors opened,
Hiss~
Just as the doors got opened the horde rushed Inside till they reached the door separating the passenger and driver compartment.
BANG.....BANG.....
They started banging on the metallic door,
Suddenly the metro lurched forward the wheels screeching against the rails with sparks.
FASTER!!! FASTER.... raviel shouted before stopping himself from banging the pannel again.
The lights flickered on and it accelerated with such force that he could hear the sounds of crushing of bodies and bones from inside.
The head lights captured the massacre as several of those undead were crushed as the metro now gained it's full speed.
Raviel collapsed on the broken chair, his pulse spiking every few seconds as he heard the banging on the door from behind.
