When Raviel opened his eyes, the first thing that he felt was cold, and suddenly the second he opened his eyes after rubbing them they started burning with such intensity that tears started streaking down Raviel's face to save him from the sulphurous air with carbon particles mixed with the heavy ash sooted smoke....
Hh—cough!....hell
Raviel desperately tried to breathe in air as the heavy smoke filled in his lungs—the pain was worse than anything else... as his vision tried to blur itself to provide protection,
Wh-here t-the hell— COUGH!.... a-am i...
He felt his body frozen as he couldn't even breathe in properly, but like some miracle the smoke started dissipating itself into the air and for the first time he saw where he was.....
"The fu*k, what the hell is happening to me, is this a dream"
Because when he saw his surrounding his stomach churned at the sight of it threatening to empty its contents as—tall skyscrappers were left hollowed—their glass pannels destroyed and some were half-broken and on the verge to collpase while the surrounding wasn't any better, the road on which he was standing was covered with the putrid smell of 'burnt tyres' as several cars, trucks and bikes lay overturned their engines burning while their tyres melted into the asphalt road,
Several shops were broken with blood on their pannels as if people were trying to escape from 'something' — there were several blood streaked hand-imprints on them, the street-lights were flickering off and on, illuminating the dark crimson blood splattered over the top of each of the vehicles and the road....
"Aarghh— i-ii don't know what the hell is happening to me anymore first my transmigration and then this..."
And to top it all of—the sky looked like it was on the verge of collapsing as violet and purple light illuminated the atmosphere with dark smoke-lidded clouds floating near the top of the half destroyed skyscrappers.
Seeing all this he brought his hand closer to pinch himself—to deny the reality he was in as if all this was just a damned realistic hallucination probably caused due to the potion.
"SCREECH—"...
The silence surrounding him was suddenly broken....
Raviel jerked and just as he tried to find the source—
THUD!!.....
Raviel flinched— as he saw a black shape bouncing off of a car and hitting the ground with a wet sound.
Just as the dust got cleared he started walking few steps towards it, reaching the place he was horrified—bile started to rise up to his throat till it's acidic taste burned his foodpipe.
...Splurt—
Raviel puked hard seeing the thing or the leftover of whatever it was— the bird had its stomach opened with maggots and worms
feeding on its intestines which were now scattered all over the road on which it fell,
Its head was torn apart with one of its eyeball still dangling with a nerve connected to its brain which was visible from outside— its skull was cracked leaving a gap wide enough to see its brain which was squashed from inside as its fluids were dripping like runny water from the gap.
—As if this wasn't enough the bird or the crow which it seemed like still squirmed trying to flap its bloodied broken wings and suddenly.....
The car on which it bounced off started honking
HONK~HONK...
While Raviel's ears still rang from the sudden sounds of those honks~
EEEEEEEEEEE—AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH.
A shrill piercing through the haze of the smoke—echoing throughout the terrain.
His instincts screamed, his heart hammered inside the rib-cage and before his thoughts could catch up.
He spun around—and saw her....
A figure staggering forward from the shadows, body twisted unnaturally, her hair was patched up on her charred skin with blood covering her figure from head to toe as if she was drenched in it, with white eyes that seemed to be fixated on him and without a moment's delay she shot forward...
THUMP....THUMP....THUMP..THUMP..
Without waiting for any second Raviel started running as if recognizing what that creature was, boots slamming hard on the fractured asphalt surface CRACK....CRUCH!!!, he didn't look back, he didn't need to,as his instincts screamed: if you look back now, you are dead ...
The undead woman screamed again...
Raviel turned—only to see them,
A Horde
Dozens at first, then hundreds stretching beyond his vision, Men, women, children whose faces were ruined beyond recognition, mouth torn apart, some had arms or legs missing— dragging and crawling doing anything—just to reach him.
Raviel brain circuited with one thought RUN.
His legs pumped faster than ever before he even realised it, air ripped out of his throat and lungs burning as he darted across the shattered roads, behind him the horde—faster and louder as they started picking up pace,
He leapt over an overturned car, his boots skidding across the hood of a bus before he jumped down, A bloodied hand swiped right beside his ankle as he jumped again,
Too many..... they are everywhere!!!!
The growls grew closer.....
One of them lunged at him—slamming into him before the zombie's head twisted and it's teeth just centimeters away from Raviel's throat,
Raviel in pure panic shoved him off while another one from behind scrapped and teared his shirt.
Raviel's eyes darted—searching for any way out of this and his gaze landed on an electric board with: UNDERGROUND METRO written on it, seeing the sign raviel accelarated towards that direction..
Run...Run... feet don't fail me now...
