The drive back to the city was silent.
I had left Jade Springs. I couldn't stay there. Not after Yichen had walked out, leaving me in that beautiful, luxurious villa that felt less like a graveyard.
Lin Jun and Qiao Mei had tried to stop me, of course. They stood by the car, their faces pale with worry, urging me to wait. They promised they would talk to Yichen, that they would knock some sense into him.
