Jay's POV
It feels like I can't go home today.
"Wow! Dancing in the rain, and now you've caught a cold and fever," Yuri scolded us.
I was sitting on the bed, wrapped in a blanket. Keifer was sitting next to me, wrapped in a blanket too.
Suddenly, I sneezed again.
"Did you people think you're frogs? That's why you went dancing in the rain?" Ci-n said with a chuckle.
"Do I look like a frog to you?" Keifer asked irritably, wiping his nose with a napkin.
I shot Ci-n a death glare.
Everyone was in Keifer's room—some sitting on the sofa, some at the study table and chairs, and some sitting next to us on the bed.
A maid knocked on the door and then came inside carrying a tray with soup, placed in two bowls.
"Come on, finish this soup quickly, and after that, you'll have to take medicine too," David said, handing me the bowl of soup.
I took a sip from the spoon.
"Ahhhh, the soup is very hot right now," I commented.
"Drink it after it cools down a bit," David replied.
"Ahh, I don't feel like eating or drinking anything," I said lazily.
"But you have to eat something to take medicine," Yuri replied.
"Come on, both of you, finish the soup," he added.
I blew on the soup to cool it down and then took a sip. Keifer did the same. Both of us quickly finished the soup.
"Now, let's take the medicine too," Eman said.
"You guys are behaving like parents," I commented with a frown.
Yuri gave the medicine to Keifer and me, handing each of us a glass of water.
Keifer and I exchanged glances.
"Ahhh, it's really bitter," I commented with a grimace and quickly drank the water.
"I've never tasted such bitter medicine before," Keifer said.
"Who told you to dance in the rain? Now you'll have to bear it," Mayo scolded.
"Everybody, shut your mouths. Let them rest now," David said.
"You guys take some rest, we are leaving," Yuri added.
One by one, everyone left.
"Why does all this have to happen on exam days?" I murmured.
I turned to Keifer. He was lying beside me, shivering slightly while trying to close his eyes and sleep.
I touched his forehead—it was burning hot.
He has a high fever.
"Keifer," I whispered near his ear.
He didn't respond.
I lifted his head slightly and rested it on my lap.
"Keifer, are you okay?" I asked.
Of course, they had just given him medicine—how could he be fully well? Why was I even asking this? Ahhh.
Suddenly, he stirred a little and hugged me while still sleeping.
Is he really sleeping? I wondered, thinking about how we would get home.
I stayed there, lost in thought, and eventually drifted off to sleep myself.
The next day…
"Jay, wake up…" someone said, trying to rouse me.
"Ahhh, what?" I mumbled irritably.
"Get up, Jay," Yuri insisted.
"Ahhh, okay, I'm awake… tell me, what?" I replied, still a little annoyed.
"You didn't eat anything last night because you were asleep. Aren't you feeling hungry?" Ci-n asked.
"Then why didn't you guys wake me up?" I asked, scratching my head.
"Come on, take a quick bath and then have breakfast," Yuri said, dragging me out of bed.
"Wait, I'm coming," I replied, getting up.
I opened Keifer's closet, took out his shirt, and grabbed a towel.
"By the way, where is Keifer?" I asked, turning to them.
"He's gone somewhere," David replied.
"Where?" I asked.
"He didn't tell us, just said he was going for some work," Ci-n answered.
"So, is he well now?" I asked, giving them a questioning look.
"Yeah," Yuri replied.
After asking them all the questions, I went straight to the bathroom.
I took a quick shower, dried my hair, and slipped into his clothes before stepping out.
Yeah, I had brought my own clothes, but somehow his clothes always felt more comfortable.
I stretched a little, feeling the soft fabric, and headed downstairs.
