The man with scar was Dr. Garry, father of Karen and one of the scientist who tried to find cure from the outbreak happening three years ago.
He experimented the virus and created something that can gain dominance from the Zectoma Virus. In short, he want to gain the control at the infecteds, and turn them into a massive undead army.
Few months had passed, Karen's body successfully adapt to the virus letting the virys inside her get to hibernation, and activate when she's having a emotional attack.
She unlocked it when Vins is about to get killed by Harris—one of the strongest commander in Black Bandits. She scream out loudly, releasing a surge of irritating buzzing sound through her scream. Infecteds around the base was caught by the scream and start rushing through the Black Bandits base.
Its the power to rule and control the undead infecteds around the user. A power that can dominates and manipulate the virus itself, Dr. Garry successfully created a war weapon that can turn any battle into their advantage.
" You finally awakened the power i gave you...now you must come and find me, my dear child! ",
A whisper echoes inside the little girl's mind.
Suddenly, Karen woke up with a terrified and scared expression. She breath out, sweating and trying to figure out what's happening and what's with the voice she heard.
" W-what happened? ",
Benedetta enter the room and was surprised that Karen was already awake and feel no sick this time.
" Karen! Thank god your awake! ",
Benedetta said, checking her up.
" Bene-sis, what happened while i'm sleeping? ",
Karen ask.
" Nothing much, but Dr. West and the group is doing their best to maintain our settlement safe from infecteds ",
Benedetta explains, while checking her heartbeat.
" What about Fionna-sis? Where is she? ",
Karen ask again.
" Mhm, she's unconscious the time they arrive back here...she's just resting, don't worry about her ",
Benedetta stood up, and took some medicines.
" Drink this, it will give you temporary energy...but yoy must be careful and don't over exhausted yourself ",
Karen didn't like the look of the medicine, but she still drink it without hesitation.
" The truth kid, all of our medicine can't cure your illness, we don't know how to fight it because all the medicines we giving you, is getting exterminated by something inside of you ",
Benedetta explains about Karen's body. The little girl was surprised but she knows something is happening inside of her, she look at her hand thinking about what will happen to her in the future.
Back in the third floor of the main building, Chris and Henry was shock at what West told them about Karen's mysterious illness and power.
" What you mean by gift? ",
Chris ask.
" A gift, a power that Garry gave to his own daughter just to make something that can control the infecteds outside ",
Henry remember something, he remembered the one time where the infecteds suddenly appears and enter the Black Bandits base after the loud screeching scream of Karen when Vins is about to get killed by Harris.
" There's one time...she actually control the infecteds unconsciously ",
Chris was confused, he tried to remember but he can't recall when Karen used that kind of power.
" When Vins is about to get killed, she scream in fear of losing another person...all those infecteds outside of the camp is starting to force enter inside the camp! ",
West suddenly thought of something.
" I guess the gift she got activated when she was on a verge of emotional attack...like what you said, she scream because my son was about to get killed that day ",
Henry nods, while Chris can't follow their conversation.
" WAIT! What the heck are you two talking about?? I can't follow! ",
Chris shout.
" You really stupid don't you, what we mean is Karen has a hidden power that can control the infecteds! You don't remember when she suddenly activated it unconsciously? ",
Henry said.
" No, i was not there that time...i'm actually fighting that gun addict inside of the building, but if what you saying is true...then Karen was something? ",
West nods.
" Yes, she has the ability to control the infecteds but we don't know yet the limitations of that power, we can't let her use it frequently ",
West said.
" Why? ",
Chris ask.
" Like i said, we still don't know her power's limitations...what if it gave her extreme headache that can literally kill her? We can't gamble her life just to use her power to keep the base safe ",
West sigh, she felt heavy after hearing about Karen's condition and power.
" If i'm just still in my old self, maybe i can still study her power more...but, my body is now frail and weak i can't even stand for so long ",
Henry and Chris look at each other with worry looks.
" Henry, Chris...do everything to protect that child, don't let anyone steal her and use her for their own wants ",
West grab Chris hand with a saddened expression and twinkling lights on her eyes.
" Please, don't do what i did before...take care of that little girl ",
Chris look at Henry, he doesn't know how to take care kids but he can't just abandoned a little girl with a power to conquer the whole world. With a deep sigh, Chris promises to West that he will protect Karen with everything he has.
" I promise...madam ",
In the rooftop of the main building, Karen was standing there watching the infecteds wandering around the field outside of the prison.
" ...you must come and find me, my dear child ",
The voice once again echoes inside of her mind. Karen was thinking about searching for her father who died in the laboratory two years ago.
" Father, why you want me? What's so special about me that you really want me to find you? ",
Karen whisper, remembering the past she had with her father in that filthy nightmare laboratory.
" I WILL GONNA KILL YOU ALL!! ",
Garry said on his monster form. He launch himself forward swinging his massive claw like hand, and destroyed the wall behind Vins and Fionna.
Karen was watching their fight from a side, while guarding Ginger's unconscious body.
" Like i would let you!! ",
Vins jump through the wall, and take another leap then swing his leg sideward. The monster got kicked in the head, slamming himself in the wall in the right side.
Fionna slide down, then blasted off the monster's hardened chest skin, and destroyed it into pieces showing its heart pounding.
Then Vins step forward, and throw a devastating punch that squish the monster's heart, exploding with blood and slowly losing its life.
Karen shook her head, forgetting about what happened in the laboratory two years ago. She sigh, and decided to visit Fionna in her room.
Along the way, she stumble upon Leigh who's drinking a bottle of water near Fionna's room. She was kinda suspicious, but Leigh suddenly look at her.
" You awake...",
Leigh said.
" Yes, thank you for doing everything you can to protect this base ",
Karen bow infront of him, even tho she remembered how Leigh coldly killed Vins infront of everyone's eyes.
" Its been year since you last walk, how are your feeling? ",
Karen didn't dodge the question, instead she answer him.
" I'm fine sir, still in daze but i'm going to be fine ",
Leigh nods, showing something to Karen.
" Do we really need to protect this place? ",
Leigh said.
" Our settlement is getting bigger and tighter because of survivors trying to fit in on our settlement ",
Karen felt weird, she step back a little and keep staring outside of thr window.
" We built this to protect everyone who's still alive and want to live, that's obvious ",
Karen said, but Leigh's expression doesn't change.
" Good, do everything you can to protect this place...they might be weak and can't protect themselves, but your here and you can fight for them ",
Leigh said.
" Yes, just like big bro Vins ",
Leigh goes silent, and turn back.
" Yes, just like him...",
He left and go downstairs, but he look at Karen first before leaving.
" Karen, you have something inside of you...use it to protect others ",
Leigh said, leaving the third floor with serious expression.
' Something inside of me? ',
She felt confused about what Leigh said before leaving. She look back outside of the window, seeing a infected staring at her eyes.
" Father...what did you do to me? ",
[ Eastern District wall — Southwest Entrance ]
Hordes of infected are suddenly marching through the entrance, trying to force themselves to get inside of the entrance. Suddenly, a massive slashing attack cut the whole gate that blocking the hordes of infecteds.
" Huff....huff....huff ",
Someone's huffing in the middle of the hordes, a giant claw was seen scratching in the ground and making screeching sound. White stuff is dripping in the ground, burning and melting it.
A glowing red ball suddenly appears in the middle of the hordes, a silhouette of a hardened humanoid is standing, lifting its massive claw like hand from the ground.
" Huff...huff...I...huff...",
Infecteds keep on marching towards inside of the Eastern border. They all growl in hunger, echoing through the valley and field of crops. A group of military soldiers are hiding behind some wooden houses from a nearby village.
" Anyone! Do you copy!? Anyone answer us! ",
A soldier keeps on shouting in the radio.
" What happened!? Why are you scared of what!? ",
The radio buzz and someone spoke.
" A hordes of infecteds are marching in inside of the Eastern border!! We need immediate back up to restrain them! ",
Before the soldier can finish speaking, the wooden house suddenly got blown into pieces by a powerful slash attack. The attack cut the top floor of the house into pieces, the soldier was shock.
" What the...that's worst than this apocalypse! ",
The soldier said, seeing a white humanoid figure, standing in the broad daylight with its massive claw. A tongue suddenly came out, and start licking its hardened mask.
The soldier is about to pull out his gun, when he suddenly felt his hand getting chop.
" AAAAARGHHH!!!! ",
He screamed loudly, the infecteds around him start surrounding him. They all march towards him with hunger in their eyes.
" No please!! No!!! Help me!! HEL—",
He got festive by the hordes of infecteds, blood is flowing in the ground, all of the soldier's organs got thrown away by the infecteds. The fear and pain on his eyes was shown.
The white humanoid figure stood there, watching the military to fall on their doom.
" I....no....kawa ",
The white humanoid figure spoke slightly.
" Ino....ka...WA!! ",
The monster suddenly fall to its knee, and grabbing its head.
" I'LL KILL YOU!!!...",
It ripped off the hardened mask, and throw it in the ground.
"...INOKAWAAAAA!!!! ",
The monster was non other than Dr. Garry Durian—one of the top scientist that seek cure for the outbreak happening three years ago.
" I'M GONNA KILL YOU BOTH OF YOU AND YOUR SON!!! ",
He release a loud roar, capable of destroying the whole village. The house nearby got destroyed, and fall in the ground. Infecteds around the place was blown away by the scream, and get squashed in the ground as well.
"...Vincent....Vins...and that bitch! ",
He stood up, his left arm suddenly turn into a blade like bones. His human face start turning into a twisted monster face, all the veins on his head start getting visible.
" I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL ALL OF YOU!!! ",
Another loud scream has been release, but this time the infecteds also scream loudly, echoing in the whole valley of Eastern District.
