She didn't realize, it was already lunch time.
They usually wouldn't be home during lunch—so why today? Su Miao Miao hid, planning to listen to the conversation.
"Mom, Dad, I don't know that person at all. I just met him and he was trying to talk to me. Trust me, I have nothing to do with him," came the voice of the biological daughter, Su Ran Ran.
Su Mother also pleaded, "You yourself said she hasn't been back for more than a week. How could she know anyone here? He's a hooligan—our daughter could never be acquainted with him. He must be the one trying to harass her. Thank goodness we found out in time."
Su Father said coldly, "Hopefully that's the case. Those types of people are not good. If you encounter one again, run as far as you can, go to a crowded place, and come to us. We'll take care of it."
Su Ran Ran nodded obediently.
Earlier, while Su's parents were returning home from work to bring lunch for their daughter, they'd seen her talking to a hooligan. Fearing she'd be bullied, they'd scolded her harshly to make her understand the seriousness of it.
But what they didn't know was that Su Ran Ran was familiar with such people. Even back in Jiang Village, she would hang out with hooligans. She'd let them touch her, and in return, they'd give her food or help with chores.
It was a small town—those men didn't dare go too far.
Thinking the same, Su Ran Ran had sought out a similar person here yesterday.
She had given the hooligan some money to "do a job" for her yesterday.
He'd agreed but demanded more money.
The Su parents had given her some money before leaving. When her parents left, she went to meet him again in a quiet place to pay—but the hooligan tried to take advantage of her.
She thought he was like the ones from her town and let him get handsy. But he wanted to go further. When she refused, he followed her, begging for more but just then her parents had seen them together.
It indeed looked like harassment, so they hadn't suspected their daughter's willingness and involvement.
After lunch, Su parents returned to work, warning her to stay away from such alleys and people.
Su Ran Ran agreed—but as soon as they left, she went straight to meet her hooligan friend again.
Su Miao Miao followed quietly. She wasn't afraid of being seen; she could always enter her space to hide.
What she saw shocked her. Su Ran Ran met the hooligan in a dilapidated house, far from any witnesses.
When Su Miao Miao heard Su Ran Ran apologizing and explaining that she wanted the hooligan to *scare Su Miao Miao*, realization hit her like ice.
The incident that had nearly destroyed her in her past life—it had been orchestrated by her own sister.
Her heart turned cold.
The hooligan was being touchy, and Su Ran Ran was letting him. When he tried to do more, she panicked. "Hey, you can't go that far! We had an agreement!"
The hooligan sneered, "Oh, please don't act pure. I know what you want. I'll make sure you're satisfied."
He started tearing at her clothes.
Su Ran Ran screamed. There was no one around to help.
Su Miao Miao clenched her fists. No matter what, she didn't want Su Ran Ran to lose her innocence. She was about to intervene when she heard desperate pleas—
"Please, don't! The girl I told you about—Su Miao Miao—bring her here and you can do anything to her! Please let me go! She deserves it, not me! I'll give you more money!"
Hearing that, Su Miao Miao laughed bitterly to herself. She had been about to help such a person. She truly was too soft-hearted.
The hooligan agreed to Su Ran Ran's suggestion and they walked out.
Su Miao Miao hurriedly entered her space afraid of being seen since there were no houses nearby for her to hide.
Through her spiritual consciousness inside her space, she saw both Su Ran Ran and the hooligan. And she recognized him—the same man who had almost assaulted her in her past life.
This proved that in her past life, it *was* Su Ran Ran's doing.
Su Miao Miao smiled coldly. She had nearly saved the very person who once destroyed her. She had to be crueler to the person who were not kind to her.
Su Ran Ran returned home pleased, but Su Miao Miao had lots of thoughts in her mind. She wanted to take revenge on Su Ran Ran, but could she do anything in three days? She would see.
She pushed the thoughts of revenge to the back of her mind and went to the Supply and Marketing Cooperative. She had vegetables growing in her space, but grain would take some time to grow. She needed to purchase them.
She had enough coupons today, so she also bought some pastries and more seeds. There were more varieties in the store.
She bought a few fabrics with which she wanted to make clothes for herself. She knew how to do that.
She had industrial coupons which she could use to buy bicycles, watches, radios, and sewing machines.
After she went to the northeast, it wouldn't be easy to buy those things, and they would be more expensive there.
So, she took out all the industrial coupons, keeping only two in her space, and bought a bicycle and sewing machine, which she asked them to help deliver to the guesthouse.
She also bought a wristwatch, which she wore herself.
The salesworkers were surprised at how much money and how many coupons she was spending. But they didn't say anything.
There was also Mo Ming, her high school classmate who was there at the Supply and Marketing Cooperative.
She was genuinely worried for Su Miao Miao and couldn't help saying, "Aren't you afraid your parents will say something about spending so much money?"
