Chapter 12 - New Beginning

So, she could kill with her conciousness inside her space.

Wow, that would save lots of her time.

She put the rabbit in the kitchen of cottage house with her conciousness.

She roamed around. Looking at all those animals, she wanted to cook and eat meat.

It had been long since she ate meat, after all.

She looked at the nearby fruit tree which bore red fruit like an apple. But it was too round to be apple. Almost as round as orange.

She decided to pick more fruits from the tree. She filled one of the large bags she had brought and stopped only when it was full.

Then she went to the nearby trees and tried the fruits there as well. Some were sweet, some creamy, some slightly sour, and some had tiny seeds inside. All of them were delicious in their own way.

She sorted the fruits carefully and put different kinds into different bags. The bags were large, but still not enough for all the fruits.

Using her consciousness, she moved the filled bags to the warehouse, poured out the fruits and brought them back empty.

When she turned to look at the first tree she had harvested, she was shocked—the fruits had already grown back! The tree was full again as if she had never picked anything.

She realized that the trees in her space would never run out of fruit. None of the fruits ever fell to the ground or went rotten.

Excited, she picked more and more fruits using her consciousness and stored them in the warehouse. Then she returned to her cottage.

She put the dead rabbit into the warehouse too since she didn't have time to cook today. She still had to rest.

Outside, the black-soil area was planted with medicinal herbs, but many spots were still empty.

Some herbs were ready to be picked, so she collected them and laid them outside to dry.

The weather in her space was always bright and sunny but never too hot, perfect for drying herbs.

There were also some herbs, like ginseng, that became more valuable the longer they lived, so she left those to grow.

She thought that she needed to buy seeds soon—grain seeds, vegetable seeds, and other useful crops. She wouldn't even need to farm with her hands.

With her consciousness, she could plant and harvest easily.

After finishing her work outside, she entered the cottage again and opened the martial arts book she found most suitable for herself. She had already read all the books there and knew this one fit her best.

Although she had memorized its contents, putting them into practice was not easy. She sat cross-legged on the floor, trying to follow the breathing method described in the book.

The flow of spiritual energy inside her space made her body feel light and refreshed.

She closed her eyes and concentrated.

Time passed quietly. When she opened her eyes again, she felt her body slightly stronger and her mind calmer. This space truly was magical. Everything here helped her—whether food, herbs, or spiritual energy.

She felt grateful for this second chance.

She thought about her family again. Even though they treated her like she didn't exist, she no longer felt as heartbroken as before. Instead, she felt distant, almost detached.

They could live their lives, and she would live hers. She didn't need their love anymore. She had herself now, and that was enough.

She planned what she would do next. Tomorrow, she would secretly stock up on rice, flour, and other food. She would hide them in her space so that no one could take them away from her.

She would also collect more herbs, learn to recognize their uses, and study the martial arts techniques properly.

She had a long road ahead, but she finally had a purpose.

After closing the martial arts book, she walked outside again. The air was fresh, filled with the scent of herbs and fruits.

The sky was bright as always, painted in gentle shades of gold. It was peaceful here. A small smile appeared on her face.

For the first time in a long while, she felt at ease.

When she returned to her room in the real world, everything was silent. Her family was still downstairs, chatting happily as if she didn't exist. She sighed softly but didn't let it bother her. She lay on her bed and stared at the ceiling.

Tomorrow would be a new start for her—a start where she would no longer depend on anyone else.

As expected, Su Father was waiting for her on the sofa early the next morning.

She also didn't want to delay things any longer.

Since she had already decided to go to the northeast as an educated youth, it would be easier to discuss the terms with them.

She confidently sat on the sofa, which surprised Su Father a little, but he didn't think much about what had caused the change in Su Miao Miao.

He said, "So we won't tell anyone that you are an orphan with no one to rely on. We will still be your parents. Su Ran Ran will call you sister, but you have to go to the countryside for a few years. Don't worry—we will bring you back using our connections soon enough."

He thought to himself, Well, whether I bring you back depends on me. Dream on.

Su Miao Miao thought, If I were still naïve like in my past life, of course, I would trust that he would bring me back. But I'm not naïve anymore.

She didn't let her thoughts show on her face.

Calmly, she said, "Dad, I know it must be hard for you. You just found your biological daughter, and you want to spend more time with her. I agree to go to the countryside. You don't even have to lie to the world, saying I am your biological daughter.

The life-saving grace you've shown me by raising me until today, I will repay by going to the countryside.
