Prayers in Arcadia.
If I were to describe [Prayers] in detail, we would have to sit for at least 3 to 4 hours day-to-day for a month for you to completely understand its concept in Arcadia. And roughly about half the time more to implement in your daily life.
And since it's that length, I will only focus on a certain minor aspect of prayer that I will brief to you, in words you can understand, and in methods that you can probably apply if you were to play Arcadia Online.
Though you still need to understand that there are three major types of Prayers in Arcadia, each following a set of rules that governs the game.
[Unidirectional Prayers] done to a single God, for a single cause and to get a single reward.
[Multidirectional Prayers] done to multiple Gods, for a Major cause, by a Major Sacrifice and to get one or more rewards.
[Unrestrained Prayers] done to any higher entity, God or not, for any cause, that may or may not require a sacrifice and that may or may not receive a reward in return.
For now,
We will only focus on [Multidirectional Prayers] because that's the type I was meditating towards. And even under that heading, I am doing a specific type of [Partial Secondary Sacrifice] prayer that involves both the devilkin and my own partial self.

The first part somewhat involves calling the Gods. It can also differ based upon the Gods you are calling, and in that case, you will need to take the names individually. And yeah, almost all the time, you need to appease the individual Gods based on their own preferences.

Then you ask for the rewards in a roundabout way.
In this case, I asked for Unlimited Stamina for a short duration.
Could have asked for other things like infinite agility, or high agility, but the sacrifice at stake would be higher as well. Chances are, I may even lose one of the stats permanently later if I ask for too much.

Still a pretty hefty sacrifice if you ask me.
I was asking to get 4 of my stats reduced to 1 digit for days equal to how many seconds I will be using that infinite stamina.
If I use it for 10 seconds, I will be in that state for 10 days.
That meant loss of the time that I can use for quests, level ups and get more skills.
But it was worth it.
I had a plan to kill that devil and reap greater rewards than what I can attain in more than a month. I would still like to finish this within 10 seconds, though. Or perhaps faster if possible.
I mean, if I can kill that devil, then I will gain a huge level boost that will keep me at the top for weeks if not months. The rewards of the quest were also pretty great, given that I will get a Unique skill, 3 if I can convince the others to give me their cards.
All the more fruitful if you think about the Class that I was working towards.
Plus, this could be Main Quest related, you know? It's very, very, very important no matter how you look at it. I could even get a favourable look in front of the Gods, if I succeed.
There was also popularity through that stream that Blaze was playing right now.
And one last thing was…
I can get a few skills that are generally impossible to think about without the Infinite Stamina I will get.
As for why I chose to pray now and not before was because of more reasons than this.
There was a high-level unique devilkin boss in front of me, a good sacrifice. There was a possible main quest, an excellent motive. And most importantly, there was an unbreakable weapon, the Scythe of that Witch, which I can swing as many times as I want with no need to worry about durability, and a suitable method. The stream was also important, but not as much as these three.
If any of the three things were missing, I would have chosen to give up the quest instead. But I guess I was luckier than I thought.
And so, I repeated the same prayers again, for a total of 3 times, before the system panels started showing up in front of me.

[He says that if you can defeat the devilkin and save this settlement, you will be bestowed with a Unique Skill from him.]

[Your Stamina limit will be removed temporarily!]
[May the Blessings of the Gods be with you!]
As soon as the notification ended, I felt my heart beating loud, my veins getting hotter and a slight dizziness covering my vision right after I opened my eyes.
Though calming down within the next second, I saw Blaze and Link standing in front of me, with the witch staring at me with a look of disbelief. Her eyes seemed to be questioning what she was witnessing, by didn't have enough time to provide her with answers.
Turning to Raven, who was standing a few meters away from the devilkin, I immediately stood up and began running in her direction.
"SCYTHE!!!" I shouted, at which she threw it in my direction.
And then…
I took the first heavy step.
