The gates to the dungeon hummed with a slight disorienting screech, if he didn't leave now, he'll be trapped forever inside the dungeon.
He struggled to get to his feet, but the burns, his peeling flesh and injuries made it difficult for him. At the last minute, he fell through the gate and crashed on the cold floors of his room just as the gates disappeared.
"That was close..." He groaned in relief, laying on the cold grounds as he tried to catch his breath. He never thought he'd push himself so far for a D-rank dungeon. But due to interference that D-rank dungeon became a B-rank.
But it didn't change the facts, more than ever he was lacking in power without the dragon.
"But that all ends here..."
"ARGH!" He clutched his leg tightly. The pain was unbearable. The injuries he obtained from this dungeon was far worse than the injuries got from the A-tier Soul-Beast.
Especially since it went easy on them.

Not only did his stats increase at an alarming rate, but he activated another Soul-Core? "I levelled up this much just by clearing that dungeon!?" He couldn't believe it.
Then again, at first it was a D-rank, then due to interference, it's difficulty level rose along with the rewards.

[Shadow Longevity: This skill removes and cures all irregularities in the users body, making him immune to most toxins and poisions.]
As the system described each skill with a different translucent blue panel, Kazuki didn't hesitate to activate the [Shadow Recovery] skill. He couldn't bare the pain any longer.
"Shadow Recovery."
A dark energy engulfed him, and steam escaped his searing flesh. In response , his flesh were banded back together by a mysterious force. His slightly fractured ribs, his bleeding wounds, all healed itself completely and he felt reborn.
"W—whoa." His body felt light, renew. Like he just woke up from a full ten hour sleep.
He focused his attention back to the main translucent blue screen that displayed his stats. "My Soul-Energy has increased along with my stats?"
Unknown to him, his Soul-Energy grew even more powerful with each soul essence he obtained by killing the wolves and the serpent, increasing his Soul-Energy beyond the dungeon's limitations.
"These stat points... How should I allocate them?" After careful considerations, Kazuki allocated 5 stats points to his agility, 3 to his strength and finally 4 to his stamina.
After the allocation, he could feel the upgrade in his body, his slightly muscular body from his previous upgrade became more defined. His six pack abs became more visible. And his body felt completely light.
He could feel his leg muscles growing stronger and much compact, his jawline became more defined.
"Alright." He squeezed his balls into a fist, there was no doubt about it. He had grown stronger, strong enough to defy the fate that awaited him in that dungeon.
"I'm almost ready." He muttered under his breath.
Thanks to the system errors, he came a long way. But it wasn't enough, certainly not enough to survive what was to come in the final part of the second selection.

Yui sat behind the large monitors in her office, searching through several cards on the table.
"Yui." A voice spoke behind her, and for a moment her heart raced, then she calmed down.
"Hiro! Don't startle me like that!" She pouted.
"Get a grip you damned alchemist, aren't you built to expect that kind of stuff?"
"Whatever, I've done what you asked." From the several piles of cards that laid on her table, she picked out three cards that stood out from the rest.
These cards were referred to as Soul Info cards, and they were how the Soul-Hunter's association stored data besides digitally on Soul-Hunters.
"Let's see." He took the cards from her and examined them carefully.

"Still, this is extraordinary." He pulled out the next card.
