Chapter 1: The Accident
Lin Zhou finished another long day at work and trudged home, his body heavy with exhaustion. The city's neon lights flickered with cold brilliance, and the streets were crowded with hurried passersby—none noticing the slight tension etched on his face.
As he crossed an intersection, a speeding car suddenly lunged toward him. White light exploded before his eyes. Time stretched, every second elongating infinitely. He could hear his heartbeat echoing, even the faint friction of air around him.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself standing on a strange, blurry street. The surroundings were familiar, yet warped, like a dream. Shadows of people moved slowly and eerily, as if time itself had frozen them.
A mysterious voice whispered in his ear: "Lin Zhou, do you know what fate is?"
He turned, but no one was there. Fear and curiosity collided in his chest. He felt the world around him subtly shift—his life was no longer a simple, linear path.
Unbeknownst to him, this was only the beginning of his journey through fate.
