After Yeva brought her to the city hospital, a fragile sense of calm finally washed over Yuzu. Throughout the drive, she had been quietly sharpening a single resolve that she was going to escape. She could no longer trust Niky, not after learning he had intentionally hidden Yuki's whereabouts from her. For months, Yuzu couldn't believe Niky had lied under the excuse of 'protecting' her.
She had spent too long playing a role in someone else's game. This time, Yuzu intended to move on her own terms. She wanted freedom. She wanted her sister. And to get them both, she needed information.
In the car, she sat between a hulking guard on one side and Yeva on the other. She kept her gaze trained on Yeva. If there was anyone she could coax information from, it would be her.
"The person who took my sister. Who is he really?"
"That…"
Yuzu shifted her posture slightly, just enough to make Yeva fear she might harm herself again.
"He's Ivanovich, Yuzu!"
