"Yuzu!"
Niky's sharp shout cut through the air, jarring not only the passing pedestrians but also his men, those who had been blending among the crowd, disguised as ordinary people to guard their boss without Yuzu realizing it. Their cover was shattered instantly the moment Niky reacted. Everyone of them rushed toward Yuzu, who suddenly bolted across the street as if she were possessed.
"Yuzu!"
The moment she ran from him, something inside Niky collapsed. His lungs constricted while his world spun out of control. He only managed to breathe again when Viktor caught Yuzu just before she stepped off the curb. Viktor's face had gone pale, but Niky knew his own must have been far worse.
"Damn it. You nearly got all our heads taken off back there, Yuzu."
Viktor panted heavily, arms shaking as he held her tight. Yuzu had never seen his hands tremble, not even when a gun muzzle was pressed against his skull.
