CHAPTER 34 — PRESSURE
Tracy's POV
I used to think silence was peaceful.
That was before silence started to feel like punishment.
The past few days had been a blur of work — endless reports, unnecessary corrections, files that somehow always needed "one more revision." Every time I thought I was done, Claire would appear beside my desk, her heels clicking softly against the floor, her expression perfectly polite.
"Tracy, Mr. Cole will need these redone." she would say, placing another folder on my table.
I'd stopped arguing.
Arguing only made her smile that quiet, knowing smile — the kind that said you are not going to win this.
So, I just nodded and kept working.
