Tracy's POV
Later that afternoon, Nathan stopped by my desk, his tie slightly loosened.
"Hey, Tracy. How are the reports coming?"
"Almost done." I said, flipping through the last few pages. "I cross- checked the client data. There were some inconsistencies, but I fixed them."
He raised his brows, clearly impressed. "Already? You are fast. Most new hires take weeks to catch up."
I smiled, a little shyly. "I have done this before. My old job… wasn't that different."
"Well, that explains it." He smiled, leaning slightly on my desk. "You are doing great. Keep this up, and I will be the one learning from you."
His kindness warmed me — not the kind that made your heart race, but the kind that made you feel seen. Like your hard work actually mattered. I nodded, murmuring a quiet thank you.
When he walked off, I turned back to my work, unaware that a pair of eyes from the glassed- in CEO office were watching me — quietly, curiously.
