Enzo's POV
I pull my shirt off and strip out of my jeans, letting them fall to the floor before I'm down to just my briefs. I slip into bed beside her, and she immediately pulls my arm around her waist, her skin warm against mine. She adjusts her position, settling back against me so I can comfortably crook my chin against the curve of her neck. From here, I can watch the movie playing on her iPad, the soft light flickering across the sheets.
We've spent the whole evening just catching up, with her doing most of the talking. I held her close when she suddenly switched from chatting to crying, and then just as quickly, she was smiling down at Lotus. Her emotional whiplash has gotten more intense with the baby in her, these sharp turns from laughter to tears and back again. I make a mental note to prepare more for this, to stockpile patience and steady myself if I ever want to keep up.
