At first, she thought the person was just frightened, covering their mouth with both hands. However, as she observed them looking around furtively, as if worried about being noticed, a sense of unease crept over her.
When the figure suddenly backed up and broke into a run, disappearing deeper into the manor's back garden, Everly's instincts kicked in. She slipped away from the chaos and began following the fleeing person.
The figure finally stopped when they deemed the area deserted, the only company being the unique tropical flora decorating the garden. Relieved, the person lowered their hands from their mouth, but kept their head down.
