[Impossible!] HORUS exclaimed, startling Thorne, who was absorbed in the atmosphere.
'What is it?' Thorne asked.
[He is not of this world and is not supposed to be in this world. Now the mystery of his death and darkness affinities makes perfect sense.]
'Not of this world? That doesn't make any sense. Are you saying...'
[Yes, he is an extraterrestrial life.]
'So they truly existed.' Thorne's gaze on Sean sharpened.
As if by fate, coincidentally, Sean's face tuned towards his direction, his eyes bearing a light Thorne could not read.
Under his gaze, Thorne felt unnerved. It was like Sean was staring into his soul, and all his secrets were laid bare.
'He can't possibly know about it can he? No that's impossible' Thorne said to himself.
[Indeed host, he doesn't as I have not met him before.]
'What is it about his blood? Aside from the fact that he is alien, what else is there to know.'
[Other than his human and dominant genes, there are three other genetic codes his body has absorbed. While the numbers are a hundred percent accurate, the next set of information would be based on informed deductions, with an eighty percent accuracy.]
'Go on,' Thorne urged, his eyes still trained on Sean's.
From Sean's side in the center of the room, he had locked eyes with Thorne, and could tell he was conversing right now with HORUS.
He also didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that the topic of their discussion, was undoubtedly him.
It was just a shame, that he didn't know what they were talking about. Actually... He knew what the topic was, the problem was he had almost no information on it.
And from the way Thorne's pupils had constricted twice, despite him trying to hide it... Infact, if not for Sean's advanced vision, he wouldn't have been able to tell, should Thorne had done nothing.
However his enhanced vision, had enabled him to capture that detail... twice, and that was enough to tell him that perhaps, things were bad, and their conclusions were not in his favor.
[As his gene makeup are predominantly made up of his human genome which is quite strange, and not at the same time, it also contains a spider beast gene, another that feels like a vampire, and the last one is above my scope of information, just as his human gene is.]
HORUS voice resounded in Thorne's mind, providing answers to his question.
[Basically, his bloodline is a menace beyond my capabilities, and he possesses the genes of a lifeform of similar or slightly lesser, bloodline level, both of which are out of my scope. One which is at the limit of my knowledge, and one common.]
'So he must have received a spider beast's genes during his enhancement. However a vampire? And particularly, the last one, where could those have come from?'
[That is a mystery]
Devon finally finished, and obtained the results he needed.
"Interesting," he muttered, reading the results on the holographic screen.
"What is it?" Michael asked, eager to know, his gaze flickering towards Sean with a greedy light.
Richelle's expression immediately turned cold, and the surroundings seemed to chill.
This time, Michael did not act out of line. Although he hated her guts, he wasn't stupid. If he pushed her too far, he would suffer. However, depending on what Devon revealed he might have more than enough cards to use as leverage against her.
Infact, just what had already been revealed, was enough to shift the power dynamics between them, but of course, he couldn't go too far unless he wanted to die.
In either way, leverage was still leverage.
Today truly, was his lucky day. First was Thorne, who of course he planned to keep hooked to his hips, and now Sean. Although he couldn't have control of Sean, his information was something he could utilize, to have Richelle at his call, when he needed it.
Every way, it was a win for him. Best part was that only he knew about Thorne, and no one else. When the boy steps into Elysium to join the academy, it'll be as his protegee. With his outstanding talent, it would also give him much more opportunities.
"There are three identifiable gene markers in his body," Devon finally spoke.
"The last one is something completely unknown. No known specie on earth, possesses such genes, as far as the records go. And even the archive we have on out-worlders, have nothing like this."
Richelle's eyes took on a complex light. It seems Sean's origin were really deep.
'Where truly does he come from?' she questioned herself.
"The first and most obvious one, is his anomalous human genome. However, while it is undoubtedly human, it's quite mysterious."
"The second which I am sure of, is a spider based beast, most likely from his genetic enhancement. The last one though..." He took a deep breath, causing their ears to perk up.
"The last one... Although I'm not entirely sure, as there quite some small but profound differences between them, should be a vampire. Though his' seems to be deeper or something. We don't have nearly enough information on vampires, as we do ourselves."
"Vampire?" Sean asked, confused. As far as he knew, he behaved a little more differently than vampires of this world. They could feed on normal food, but like water to humans, they needed blood to live.
Their metabolism required a daily intake of enough dose of iron, only found in blood, which why it should have made them dehydrated, actually does the opposite.
Plus their cells denatured easily under UV light... If they were not coating it with mana of course, forcing their enhanced regeneration into overdrive. An action that burns large amount of energy in no time, and leaves them weak and dying.
His behavioral patterns after the enhancement, sure displayed some vampiric qualities, but he had wanted to believe it was more beast, as the probability it was a vampire, was completely inconceivable.
Now however, he was just finding out it was more than even that. An unknown and unexplained bloodline too?
Really, who the hell was Sean?!
