The Next Evening.
At 6:30 PM, Olaedo stood outside a café, staring down the road that led to their favourite place, Blessings Garden Restaurant.
Her heart raced with nervous energy, but something in her gut told her to wait before going further. She pushed open the door to the café, its warm glow offering temporary relief from the chilly night.
Pulling out her phone, she hesitated, then called William.
"Ah, Olaedo! It's been ages since you called. What's up?" William's cheerful voice filled her ears.
"William, I need your help. I received a text from a number claiming to be… someone from my past. Can you check it for me?"
The tone of William's voice shifted immediately when he heard her down voice. "Of course. Send me the number."
Olaedo forwarded it and waited, her fingers drumming nervously on the table. Within minutes, her phone buzzed.
