Selene's house.
"What a beautiful night." Lucien breathed in the cold air as the night breeze caressed his face.
He was in the garden... or what had once been one. Wildflowers had reclaimed the land, weeds covered the old paths, and yet the place had a melancholy, almost living air about it.
The moon dominated the sky: white, immense, without a single cloud to veil it. Its light fell on him, tinging his skin with a pale glow.
With his senses heightened by the night, he could hear the distant murmur of the city, the echo of footsteps, the rustling of the wind in the trees, even the slow heartbeat of the sleeping world.
It was truly a beautiful night.
"Honey, you're not going to see Sesha, are you?" Suddenly, he heard a woman's voice ring out in the quiet garden.
"Hmm... I hadn't thought about it," he replied honestly, looking her in the eyes. Although he was curious to meet his other wives... he had honestly forgotten about it.
He had been through a lot in a very short time: becoming a vampire, fighting the hunters of the Inquisition, and learning about his powers.
'I wonder what the personalities of my other two wives will be like.' He had a rough idea of Selene and Roxana's personalities.
He lay down on the grass, staring at the moon. "Why are you asking me that?" he asked, curious.
"Well, she's..." Roxana was searching for the words to describe her friend... but in the end she couldn't find any: "She's pretty unique."
She wasn't going to tell her husband that Sesha was lazy and idle, that she spent most of the day sleeping or playing video games, doing nothing productive... She wouldn't stoop as low as Selene, who would be capable of revealing everything.
She wasn't going to destroy her friend's little dignity... She was a good vampire.
'Yes, I'm a good vampire friend.' She repeated, trying to convince herself.
"Je~, so she's quite 'unique,' huh?" Lucien smiled; his curiosity only increased as he looked forward to meeting his two remaining wives. However... 'I'll do it tomorrow,' he decided to enjoy tonight.
"Luna," he called her.
His shadow lengthened, and from it emerged the maid with her impeccable bearing and neutral expression: "Lord Lucien called me."
"Yes, can you tell me the address where Sesha and Scarlet live?" He asked, stretching his body lazily.
"I can give you Sesha's address, but..." Luna paused.
"But?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Well... She's a very unique case." Luna doesn't know how to respond... Scarlet is complicated; a 1,500-year-old vampire is difficult to deal with, and she knows it. "So, Lord Lucien, that's all I can tell you."
Curiosity and confusion were written all over his face; now he wanted to know more about her, seeing that they were avoiding talking about her. How unique was his wife, Scarlet? He looked at Roxana, but she avoided his gaze, which made his smile widen.
He closed his eyes and let the night breeze caress his body. It had been a long time since he had felt so calm. "Roxana, why don't you lie down next to me?" he said without opening his eyes.
"Are you really asking me to do that?" Roxana smiled, but remained still. "I'm not going to get my dress dirty."
"Then come without the dress."
"Lucien!" She punched him in the chest with a smile somewhere between amused and annoyed.
"Just kidding. Luna, can you bring a blanket for the princess?" He chuckled softly.
Luna nodded and disappeared into the shadows, reappearing with a black blanket printed with red vampires.
"Thank you," said Roxana, spreading it out on the grass. Without warning, she picked Lucien up and laid him on the blanket. Then she lay down next to him. "Luna, how long have you been in my husband's shadow?"
Lucien just smiles, enjoying this.
"..." Luna exercised her right to remain silent and disappeared into the shadows.
"Tsk."
Lucien burst out laughing. "Hahaha~, you're adorable when you get jealous."
"I'm not!" Roxana protested, pouting and tapping him on the chest.
He pulled her close to his chest, looked into her emerald green eyes, and gently caressed her beautiful face. "It's quite strange," he said, somewhat confused.
"What's strange?" She snuggled even closer to his chest, listening to his very slow heartbeat.
"Hmm... I don't know how to explain it well. We met not long ago, right?" She nodded in agreement, and he continued, "So why do I feel so attached to you? It's as if, if you disappear from my life, I'm capable of setting the whole world on fire... It's strange..."
He hadn't given it much thought before... but when he thought about it carefully, he realized how crazy it was. Could it be because of the failed ritual? That's the only thing that comes to mind right now... Then he smiles. He has a harem! A damn harem of beautiful vampires! It's practically most man's dream.
"I don't know what to say, dear." Roxana is also surprised; she never expected to be married, especially to the 'cattle,' but that doesn't matter to her in the least. "By the way, dear..." She didn't finish the sentence.
Feeling the atmosphere begin to change, she sees Lucien's eyes turn red as blood, and he stands up as if gravity does not affect him.
Several question marks appeared above her head. She did not understand the sudden change... However, feeling all her emotions stirred up, she asked, "What is going on?"
But she received no response from him, and suddenly she froze.
Lucien's appearance began to change; his face began to peel away, revealing a completely black composition whose only visible features were sharp teeth and red eyes. A pair of bat wings made of blood emerged from his back.
Lucien felt something calling him, sensing it through their connection. Without thinking, his wings spread and he took flight.
The wind roared, and the night sky turned red as the vampire soared into the air.
"By the vampire king! What the hell just happened!?" he exclaimed in shock.
"Where is darling?" Selene appeared agitated in the courtyard and looked at Roxana. "Tell me what the hell happened!"
"I don't know! He suddenly flew away without saying anything!" She shouted in frustration. She wants to know, but she has no idea.
"Damn it! I have to go find my Darling." Selene can sense him thanks to their connection, so she runs off in that direction.
And Roxana follows closely behind.
...
In an area that should have been full of civilians walking around.
A group of hunters surrounded two female vampires and two werewolves. The first wore a maid's dress: she had dark blue hair that was closer to black and light blue eyes, and she was holding her arm wound.
"Lady Sesha, you must flee," she said as she coughed blood onto the floor.
The other woman, with dark blue hair and light gray eyes, clutched her stomach, which had been wounded by a deep cut. Hearing what the maid said, she looked at Kronii neutrally, although concern could be seen in her eyes. "Silence," she ordered in a cold tone.
Kronii smiled, but in her mind, she was looking for a way to help her escape.
Three werewolves had died, and the remaining two were seriously injured; she planned to use them as cannon fodder. She coughed up blood and looked at the man who had attacked them: he wore Templar armor; he had pale skin and black onyx eyes; he was also tall, measuring 1.80 meters.
Then the hunter's voice was heard:
"Sesha Nadir, of the Nadir family, you are very brave to walk so calmly alone with a servant."
"So? Do you have a problem?" Sesha said curtly, then continued, "You all know how dangerous my family is, especially my father, whom you know very well, right?" She brought her hand to the wound that had just healed, then brought it to her forehead; seeing the blood, she thought.
'How long has it been since I last saw my own blood?' She couldn't remember the last time she bled... she had mixed feelings.
"Indeed," said the man, agreeing with Sesha's words.
"All of us in the Inquisition know how dangerous your father is, having killed many generals in the past..." He noticed his subordinates trembling with fear and shook his head, somewhat disappointed, then continued:
"The vampire of gravity... the one who once crushed the entire Vatican under his power. A being who has walked this earth for a thousand years, so feared that even the Pope declared him a global threat. Thousands of people died because of him."
Sesha looked at the man, bored: "Did you come to hunt me down or just to give me my father's biography?"
"Huh?" The man couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Thousands of people have died because of your father!"
"So what? Do I look like I care?" Sesha looked at them with disdain and added, "Don't give me your hypocrisy. How many people has the church killed in the name of 'God'? How many wars have they caused in the name of 'God'?"
"They were sinners!"
"Sinners? Pff..." Sesha tried not to laugh but couldn't help herself: "HAHAHAHAHA~! So all those women who died at the stake were sinners, pff... HAHAHA~!"
She can't believe the hypocrisy of the church. They talk so much about justice, yet when God sent his savior, they hung him on a cross.
"Hmm?" She stops laughing, simply turns her face, looks to the side, and shows an expression of surprise: "So my husband comes to see me."
"Husband?" The man doesn't understand. But he hears the barrier being destroyed.
CRACK!!!!
"Get ready!" he ordered.
Soon, a being with large wings of blood falls in front of Sesha.
