As soon as I stepped out of the pharmacy, I bumped into a hard wall. I jolted back, but strong arms reached out, catching me before I could stumble into the door or the person behind me. My gaze flickered upward, and my eyes collided with his.

I pushed away from him immediately, hurrying off without a word, but his hand snaked around my wrist and pulled me back.
"What do you want?" I snapped. "Did you start stalking me again? I thought you said you'd let me be from now on."
It had been eight months since Harper left New York. Eight months since I stopped talking to William after he made that comment.
"A lot of people get married for convenience these days, and I think your friend is asking for too much from him. She should be glad he cared for her at least."
