Evangeline's quietness stalled the entire air. Her head drooped down to the bedsheet as Hades's words slithered to her heart.
The cracks that had formed from years of unfair treatment had never truly gone away. Instead, over the years that fissure grew and now a shake created by Hades's words were enough to make her realize that the fight she lead to feel accepted by her family was never normal.

When she asked, she looked up back at him. Her eyes were glassy when she lifted to see his violet eyes and she could see how seeing her eyes for a moment something in Hades wavered.
