Mikayla killed eight rats in total before letting out a soft sigh. Unlike the real monsters that mostly moved in packs, the rats were scattered and she only had to fight one or two at the same time.
Of course, whenever there were two, Nyx would help her by killing a rat with a single slash.
"I'm E rank now." Mikayla said as she looked at Amon, who nodded.
"Alright, let's get to the boss room and get our rewards."
Nyx took the front this time as she gripped her dagger, "I'll clean up the rest."
"Do your thing."
With Nyx as the main damage dealer, the trio quickly made progress. Amon had to jog to keep up with Nyx's killing speed.
Everytime a rat died, their bodies would turn into smoke, leaving nothing behind.
Soon they reached spotted a large rat that was two meters tall, standing on two legs and looking more humanoid than a full rat. It held a huge club made of granite and it wasn't even. It looked more like a rock that had been chipped off.
"Now that's what you call a scary ass monster." Amon said before yawning, "I'm so damn sleepy though… all that food is making me groggy."
"Should I…?" Nyx asked as she gripped her dagger harder. She was an E rank so she didn't really fear the FFF rank rats that did not have any senses but it was a different matter when it was the boss.
She didn't know it's rank.
"It's an F rank." Amon said as he walked past her and moved closer to the rat, "And unlike the regular monsters, the bosses do have senses and instincts. It'll be the same as fighting a real one. Get ready."
With a nod, Nyx activated her stealth and stayed behind while Amon and Mikayla rushed forward.

The rat screeched as he lunged at Keith with it's stone club, bringing it down at him at a mind boggling speed. It was different from the cockroaches and spiders that had great vitality and defences.
This one was way too fast and from the looks of it, extremely strong too.
Amon brought his arms up in an attempt to block the attack. For a moment, he felt like nothing was happening but then, he went flying.

He crashed into the wall, taking another 5 damage.
"Damn I thought I'd break my arms!" he yelled as he rolled to the side, dodging the rat's follow up attack as it crashed into the wall.
Taking this chance, Amon dashed towards it and grabbed it's tail.
Vladimir's lightning glowed as Amon used Shocking Touch. 100 mana was instantly spent to boost the damage.
Just as the rat turned around to grab Amon, it's entire body convulsed with sparks shooting in random directions.
Two seconds later, he took his hand off it's tail and jumped backwards to make distance.
200 mana was already spent in those two hours but he had no way of knowing how much damage he had dealt.
The rat's fingers twitched as it used it's stone club to push itself back onto it's feet before stumbling forward.
Nyx had been waiting for a good chance, a time when the rat was completely distracted and this was it. She had already been standing behind him, just a few meters away while she waited.
Without a second thought, she stabbed straight into the rat's behind.
Critical hit!
Amon and Mikayla watched as the rat turned into smoke while standing and at the same time, a chest appeared at the place where the rat boss originally stood.
"That's it?" Mikayla asked as she stared at the two of them in utter bewilderment, "Just one shock attack and a stab? And the boss is dead? Are you messing with me? That isn't a boss right?"
Amon grinned sheepishly as he walked towards the chest and opened it, revealing five cores.
They had killed more than 50 rats but only got 5 cores in return. Such was the experience of using the dungeons. It was safer but the rewards were also lower.
At the end of the day, those cores were still money.
Amon let the girls share it among themselves before taking the same path backwards. Mikayla had already reached E rank so there was no need to stay here anymore.
"We'll focus on levelling up today and tomorrow. After that, we take a rest and save our elf princess." he said as he looked at the two girls.
"I don't care about that." Mikayla said as she nudged him on the ribs, "It's been a few days since… you know… the three of us came together."
Nyx smiled, "You mean becoming lovers?"
"Yes. It's been a few days since we became lovers so why haven't you shown any interest in us?"
Amon had not expected such a question so he thought for a moment, "Who said I wasn't? Me and Nyx had our fun every single day while taking a bath together. You were too shy to join out on it."
Hearing the truth that had been hidden from her for so long, she glared at the two of them, "Why didn't you tell me what was actually going on?! If I knew, I would have…. well… you know.. joined."
"Nyx said she'd tell you." Amon tossed all his problems at the girl who had actually caused them.
He expected Nyx to get defensive but she doubled down instead.
"You can't blame me Mikey, I'm just putting in the effort while you're not." she said and winked at her.
"NYX!!!! You! How did you even take him? Right, there's no way you can take him without screaming for your life."
Amon who did not want to hear them talk about his little brother, cleared his throat.
"She used her mouth and hands. Anyways, we can take a shower together if you'd like."
"No." Mikayla said as she grabbed his wrist, "Here."
