"Well, I got my eyes on you after all, and not to mention your old outfit." She gestured by pointing two fingers towards her eyes and then his.
"I don't mind a cute girl like you looking at me then, but yeah, I don't even wanna remember that outfit." He shuddered when he remembered how bad that combo of white t-shirt and orange shorts looked.
"This guy." She lightly poked him on his shoulder due to his teasing with a giggle.
"Hey, I just couldn't resist."
"Anyway… Sorry to hear about your dad." With her giggling subdued, she lightly pulled down her hoodie strings, and looked at him with a worried look. "I know it's rough."
"Yeah, but thanks for worrying." He smiled to lighten the mood. While he could understand their sadness and empathy, he hardly felt any so it felt awkward to him.
"If you ever need to talk or something…" She slightly tilted her head to look at him through her hoodie as she knew how it felt to lose their parents.
"It's alright but I will let you know if I ever wanna." While he felt happy about her worry for him, he initially declined it as that topic would make him feel more and more awkward. "It's just, I am not trying to think about it for now."
"Yeah, believe me, Brad… I get it." She looked at him with a sad look while further pulling her hoodie strings, as she had also gone through what he was going through right now.
"You know, sometimes whenever I'm feeling down or whatever…" While doodling on the paper she had on her desk, she continued, "… I take my drawing pad and sit by this big fountain, over at the park."
"Oh yeah?" He slightly glanced at her doodle which seemed to have resembled cats, as he continued his words, "Sound pretty calming not gonna lie."
"Yup, yup, It's so peaceful there, especially in the evening…" She nodded her head profusely while feeling happy that he immediately got what she was talking about.
"Sounds pretty nice." Hearing that description, he thought about visiting it sometimes but remembering his grades, he didn't know when it would be.
"It is." Before continuing her words, she slightly looked down at her doodle which made her seem like a cat due to her cat ears hoodie as she turned back to look at him, "You should come check it out, sometime."
"Aye, maybe I will." While initially unsure about visiting that park, having Eve there increased the chances of him visiting it.
"Cool." She giggled lightly with his answer, as she continued in her doodling.
"Also that looks pretty cute." He lightly pointed towards the cat doodling she did, which also kind of reminded him of her but he didn't voice that out.
"Hehe, thanks Brad." She looked at him with a small smile, as she pointed towards one of the cats who was lying in some bed. "See her? This is Luna, she is always so sleepy."
"Well she looks pretty cute while sleeping." But his attention was not focused on the doodle, but on the smiling face of Eve who excitedly introduced him to all the cat doodles.
"And lastly this is Brad…" She pointed towards one of the last cats, who was drooling slightly. "Well, I couldn't think of any other name."
She looked at him with a worried look as she was worried of him being annoyed for using his name for that dumb looking cat.
"Ah don't worry, instead make more of Brad." He slightly glanced at the drooling cat and couldn't help but laugh. "And hey, he seems pretty cool."
"Hehe, I will." She smiled lightly as she focused on adding more details to that dumb looking cat or more specifically Brad.
"Anyway, are you going to take Miss Bissette up to her private lessons?" He asked her curiously as he wanted to know how many people were planning to take it.
"Private lessons?" She slightly glanced at him and then back to her doodles while trying to remember what private lessons he was talking about.
"Don't tell me you weren't paying attention?" Looking at her look, he immediately realized she didn't pay attention to what Bissette said earlier.
"I might have dozed off a bit, haha." She lightly stuck out her tongue and said with a mischievous look.
"This girl." He shook his slightly while looking at her happy expression after admitting to dozing off in the class.
"Hey, you should know how most classes put me to sleep." She made an exaggerated expression and then pretended to sleep to emphasize her point.
"Can't deny that…" He couldn't help but agree with her sentiments as even he felt sleepy from the first French class already. "But don't you have one of the highest GPAs in the school?"
"Yeah, sorta…" She replied with an awkward smile while continuing in her doodle.
"How do you even manage that?" While he had seen various cases like Eve in his past life, he was always curious about how they always manage to do such stuff.
"Oh, I dunno… Just lucky, I guess…" She slightly pulled her hoodie strings while strutting in her words due to nervousness.
"Well, if you say so." While not fully convinced by her answer, he didn't decide to pressure her for an answer.
"No, I'm serious!" She looked at his expression and realized what he was thinking about, so she tried to clear up his misunderstandings. "I've just always been good at school."
"It's like a gift or something, I can't really explain it." While she couldn't do this properly, she tried her best however she could.
"Well, that's a pretty cool gift." He said, while feeling jealous about his old self not having it but that quickly went away. 'Well, just gotta do better.'
"Yeah, I guess…" She replied lightly to his comment and looked down at her doodles as awkward silence continued.
"You know, I can look dumb like that cat." He slightly pointed towards the cat doodle and then made a funny face. "See."
"Hmm?" She looked at his face and couldn't hold back her giggle. "Hehe!"
"That's a pretty cool gift that both of us Brad got right?" He pointed towards the Brad cat and then himself and smiled widely. "You can trade it with the gift of yours."
"Heh, mmm… pretty tempting but no." She thought about it for a second and declined with a giggle. "It suits you two more, and thanks Brad."
"Dang, and what's the thank you for?" He asked with a smile while pretending to be ignorant.
"This guy." She shook her head with a giggle as she immediately noticed his act.
