Moon slowly regressed, his fur curling back and his large frame reducing till Zeke's eyes stared back into hers.
His eyes trembled with relief, but it was short-lived as the adrenaline that flooded his veins a second ago was quickly extinguished. The effect of Sylas's blood in him calmed in an instant, and Zeke felt the heaviness and pain once again.
As no matter how hard he tried to keep his eyes open, he just couldn't. He felt himself crash as the strains took over, but he collapsed right next to her.
Sylas stared between them. Theo had opened her eyes for a second and had closed them back. Whatever she had done, however she had fought against the devil, must have drained every energy she had in her.
Rest. They both needed rest.
And just in time.
He watched her as her body slowly reverted back to her female form, and he wondered why she didn't change back from the moment she had died, or when the demon had emerged.
He could only conclude on one thing.
