Chapter 4 - Hero Society? No, not for me.(2)

~There's no reason to worry about the money. Of course I'll make sure to find valuable sources to explain it. (〃゚3゚〃).

I'm glad you seem to have it all figured out when I barely know a thing about it myself. I appreciate you educating me on the system so far but it is definitely a lot to process.

~New quest! ^•^.

[Quest]

Meet the lovely miss Celeste Flux out in Cherry Park! It's almost like fate is drawing you two together. (≧▽≦).

Reward: Enough experience for a guaranteed level up and 500 coins.

Do you accept Y/N.

Does it have to be right this second or is this a timed quest? That's the only thing that's missing from the quest information here. So if you could just elaborate a bit more, that'd be nice.

~This request is active the moment you accept it, if you prefer to wait till tomorrow... That is perfectly okay! (•-•).

Ahhhh. Yes, I accept the quest. There's no point in waiting till tomorrow.

~Yay! The quest is now active now. Good luck.

I wasn't really expecting to go out anywhere else today after quiting my job but here I am. Forcing myself to take a quest to go meet the girl from before, she probably doesn't remember me in the slightest.

Also... Why would she just be in the park at this specific time?

I switched to some comfy clothes since I could finally take off the suit for a bit, putting on a pair of sweatpants and a black hoodie. My hair is kind of messy from laying around on the couch but it doesn't matter.

I just ruffle my hair a bit before leaving the apartment. Nothing seems to be going on again so maybe this will be a good chance to interact with her.

After a few minutes I reached the park again and I could see a girl sitting on one of the benches. Of course there was still remnants from where debris originally crashed down in the park but it was still nice.

~Hey, Hey! I think that's the girl you're looking for. Go speak to her ^•^.

You think? That's not very assuring in the slightest but whatever.

I walked over to the bench where the girl was sitting and she really did look just like Celeste, except she is wearing normal clothes?

A nice floral skirt with a matching white shirt, most people probably couldn't tell she was the same person. I mean, obviously she is but... That's besides the point.

So I took a seat on the bench next to her, I could feel it he nervousness settling in once again.

"Oh, hey. I remember you from before. Sorry, hope that's not weird or something. I just pay attention to good scents... Oh God that sounds even worse." Celeste says with a bit of embarrassment in her voice.

"I'm surprised you remember me but I didn't think it was weird. The world we live in already is quite the place so I wouldn't think it is bad that you remember scents." I reply, trying to ignore my nervousness.

"I just don't remember people a lot of the time because most have this awful stench to them, almost like they are bad people." Celeste says while brushing past my comment.

Not the best at acknowledging what others say apparently either... But that's fine.

"I wish I could say I understand, but I don't. I'm sure there are a lot of bad people in this world though." I respond while looking up towards the sky.

"Thank you for not thinking it's weird, my scent thing. I also appreciate you not making a big deal about me being here." Celeste says with an appreciative tone.

I'm assuming most people just make comments about her hero stuff or that she's a top hero. It probably gets annoying after awhile.

That's another reason I couldn't do the hero crap... Constant harassment from all of the fans, villains trying to kill you, and corporations that want to recruit you.

I also know that it is a lot of promotion crap to make company look good as well. Those popular rankings matter a lot to the corporations, but not to the commission who runs things.

"Of course. I don't really have a lot of care for heroes. It just feels like a bunch of show business." I reply with a laid back tone.

I could finally feel the nervousness dying down which helped a lot but I could still feel something bothering me.

~Just get through the conversation and everything will be fine. (•^•).

That helps a lot. Not really but I appreciate the gesture either way, I'll get through this.

"I don't expect everyone to support us. It is nice that you aren't rude about it at least. I've met some awful people in my time, especially the scent they give off." Celeste speaks with the same appreciative tone in her voice.

"Typically I try not to be awful about anything." I respond calmly.

Before she can respond, something seems to be happening in the distance. I can just barely hear people shouting about something but I don't really know what it is.

"I should get going, sounds like a hero is needed but I'm glad we got to talk." Celeste said with a smile before taking off.

"Good luck." I reply softly, but she was already gone.

Heroes huh.

~Quest complete!! You talked with Celeste Flux. Congratulations ( ꈍ•ꈍ).

That wasn't too bad but was that really a quest I needed to be given? Couldn't I get something a little bit better... Not that I mind talking with a beautiful girl like her.

I just don't do well with this stuff, I never have.

Heroes have never been people that I like to deal with so I'd like to avoid it in the future if possible.

~Hmmm. Just become a hero and this won't be a problem. Duh! Simple solution. ᕙ( ¤ 〰 ¤ )ᕗ.

Genuinely I'm not meant to be a hero, I'm far from perfect. Hero society isn't for me.
