Chapter 24 – Uchiha Yujiro: I'll Become a Dark-Skinned Sports Ace

Yujiro made up his mind—after training today, he'd pay Clan Head Fugaku a visit and squeeze some gold coins out of him. Specifically, he'd demand access to the clan's library of hidden jutsu for his own study.

At the moment, his chakra attributes included Fire, Wind, Earth, Yin, and Yang.

Short term plan? Stockpile more powerful fire techniques. Be the very image of a classic Uchiha, laying groundwork for the day he could casually whip out Amaterasu.

Future plan? Once the system inevitably threw him a quest, he'd add Lightning Release to the mix.

Why Lightning? Simple. Kumogakure's body-enhancing ninjutsu were absolute gems—perfect for a real manly man like Yujiro.

---

Back when he didn't have Lightning affinity, he could only drool over the Raikage's secret arts, muttering to himself:

"Pfft, I'm not jealous at all. Those trash techniques can't compare to Konoha's Eight Gates! Just wait till I max my physical stats and debut as Guy-sensei's partner."

After all, Kumo had the legendary A–B combo and their Lightning Release: Double Lariat. Why couldn't Konoha have something just as cool? He pictured himself and Guy as the "Beauty and Beast Combo," opening Twin Eight Gates Taijutsu and kicking an Ōtsutsuki straight back to the moon.

---

That was then. Now? He'd changed.

Yujiro had become a man who could flirt shamelessly with Tsunade. What else was off limits?

Besides, if he was being honest… the Blue Beast paired best with the Copy Ninja. Kakashi had already lost Rin; Yujiro couldn't let him lose Guy too.

So Yujiro would take the hit. He'd study the Raikage's taijutsu instead—aiming to become Konoha's very first dark-skinned sports ace.

---

With that thought, Yujiro unleashed his kunai manipulation technique—a variant of the Uchiha clan's shuriken control—and pressed Shisui hard. Shisui's famed blade skills were nothing to scoff at, and his epithet "Shisui of the Body Flicker" was forged through swordplay.

But against Yujiro? He was a step behind.

Yujiro's Kunai Manipulation felt like sprouting three extra arms, overwhelming Shisui and leaving him barely able to defend, with no room to counterattack.

Shisui couldn't help but shout, "Yujiro-nii, seriously?! You promised no ninjutsu!"

Yujiro only grinned. "That was then, this is now. If you're not happy, use ninjutsu too!"

"Fine, you said it yourself!" Shisui began forming seals, aiming to at least spit out a fireball for show.

Half a minute later, the fight was over.

Not once did Shisui get a chance to release a fireball. Yujiro hounded him relentlessly, forcing him to split focus between blocking with his blade and throwing shuriken to relieve pressure. Any rare chance he got to weave seals, Yujiro's kunai on strings would slash in, threatening to take his fingers off. He had no choice but to break off each attempt.

Yujiro smirked. "See? Once a taijutsu user gets in close, the fight's already over."

Shisui only gave a bitter smile. "This technique of yours is broken. It's just a D-rank jutsu, but it's completely unfair."

Yujiro clapped him on the shoulder. "It's not the jutsu that's strong, Shisui—it's the shinobi using it."

Shisui chuckled. "If you say so… but how about a rematch?"

Yujiro flicked his eyes to the system log:

[Permanent Ongoing Mission: Train Hard]

Training progress bars steadily rising…

Figures, he thought. Sparring with strong partners like Shisui makes the bars jump way faster than solo practice.

He could see it—Shisui still had fight left in him, unwilling to accept another loss.

"The training ground's a bit cramped for a real battle," Shisui suggested.

"Then let's head to the forest."

The ninja world had natural energy overflowing everywhere. Forests regrew like weeds; chopping down a few acres in a fight wouldn't cause climate change or soil erosion.

---

Minutes later, in Konoha's outskirts, the two Uchiha squared off again.

"Ready?" Shisui asked.

"Ready." Yujiro nodded. "This time, let's go all out. No holding back."

"Good. Then let's not treat this as a spar. Let's fight as if it's real combat."

Yujiro clicked his tongue. "That puts me at a disadvantage, you know."

Shisui pressed his palms together in mock prayer. "Come on, Yujiro-nii. Just let me win once, please?"

Yujiro sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine. You're my cute little brother, after all."

Shisui froze. "…Gross."

"Don't look at me like that—you started it."

The very next second, their banter ended. Both Yujiro and Shisui leapt back, vanishing into the depths of the forest in just a few bounds.

If this was going to be treated as a "real battle," then reconnaissance, ambush detection, and trap disarming were all part of the test.

While hunting each other down, they also had to keep an eye out for explosive tag traps.

Pop quiz:

What has the highest K/D ratio in the entire shinobi world?

Answer: Explosive tags.

Explosive tags.

And more explosive tags.

Landmines, tripwires, chain-detonation traps—take your pick.

Countless young shinobi marched onto their first battlefield only to be blown into minced meat before they ever laid eyes on the enemy. Who cared if you were some no-name genin or the nephew of the Hokage himself? Beneath the power of explosive tags, all are equal. Right, Nawaki?

---

Of course, this was only a mock battle, so they weren't using real explosive tags to kill each other. Instead, Yujiro and Shisui laid out crude decoy traps—simple tripwires of grass rope and vines, branches strung together, and a piece of paper scribbled with "Explosive Tag" slapped on top. Voilà, an instant practice minefield.

With their ninja speed, it wouldn't take long before the entire forest resembled a warzone out of some twisted Shinobi Vietnam.

But before that happened, one thing mattered most—whoever found the other first would seize the initiative.

And with a genjutsu master like Shisui, that single advantage could be the difference between life and death.

That meant Yujiro had to find Shisui first.

Easier said than done. Shisui's ocular powers far outclassed his own. With his Mangekyō Sharingan, his detection, scouting, and vision extended far beyond Yujiro's reach.

Was it hopeless then? Was Yujiro doomed to lose from the start?

Of course not.

Yujiro grinned and clenched his fists.

Yang Release Chakra, ignite!

Today, I'll unite the power of Ashura and Indra once more—mock Sage of Six Paths mode, fake Rinnegan—OPEN!
