Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: She Is My Only Family

The intense stinging sensation came and went quickly.

In just a daze, Mo Jingchun's mind was suddenly filled with many memories that originally did not belong to him.

Mo Jingchun rubbed his forehead. Although the pain wasn't as intense as before, his head still felt a bit dizzy, feeling like his head was at least ten pounds heavier. Mo Jingchun shook his head, thinking, could this be the weight of knowledge?

This dizzying feeling wasn't pleasant at all. If he had to describe it, Mo Jingchun thought it was like being in a room with a heated brazier during winter, not breathing fresh air for a long time, leading to slight carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Thinking of this, Mo Jingchun couldn't help but recall two figures, his nose slightly tingling.

He used to get scolded for warming by the brazier and watching TV, feeling extremely upset in his heart. It was just a short time watching TV, did they really have to nag every now and then?

It was only after losing them that Mo Jingchun suddenly realized, having someone constantly nagging by your ear was indeed an incredibly lucky thing. Unfortunately, Mo Jingchun would never feel such happiness again.

Compared to Mo Jingchun, the innocent and naive Little Candy was the most pitiful.

Mo Jingchun stared blankly at the soundly sleeping Little Candy, his thoughts wandering, not knowing what he was thinking.

After who knows how long, Mo Jingchun was startled back to reality by a warm little hand touching him.

In the moonlight, two large eyes like black gems were staring unblinkingly at Mo Jingchun, while that small cherry mouth continued to smack, and the tiny hands were busying themselves with Mo Jingchun's cheek.

With just a glance, Mo Jingchun knew the little one was awake. That incessantly smacking little mouth was expressing "I'm hungry" to him.

Turning on the light, getting out of bed, and preparing milk powder, Mo Jingchun was already very familiar with this routine.

After making the milk with dark circles under his eyes, Mo Jingchun didn't rush to feed Little Candy. After all, the temperature was still a bit too high, and a baby's stomach is not like that of older children or adults.

The same water temperature might have no effect on Mo Jingchun, but for the delicate stomach of Little Candy, it could be a disaster.

Putting the bottle on the bedside table, Mo Jingchun smiled and flicked the little one's chubby cheeks, opened the diaper, and as expected, the little one had silently done their business.

This was undoubtedly the most troublesome thing for Mo Jingchun, with no exception. Fortunately, the little one was very well-behaved and seldom cried or fussed.

Setting up a small basin of warm water, Mo Jingchun first wiped Little Candy dry with tissues, then skillfully wiped him with a moist towel.

After all this fuss, Mo Jingchun changed Little Candy into a new diaper.

The weather was already a bit hot, and after all this fuss, beads of sweat had already appeared on Mo Jingchun's forehead.

Touching the bottle on the bedside table, the temperature was just right. Mo Jingchun smiled slightly, a result from experience time and time again.

Filled and quenched, the little one's big eyes looked around, eventually focusing on Mo Jingchun before falling asleep again.

Soon, the light in the dark night was also extinguished with a soft sound.

The little one had fallen back into slumber, but Mo Jingchun didn't sleep. Instead, he lay in bed, reading about the AI intelligent housekeeper chosen from the system.

Over five hundred million lines of core code, along with algorithm formulas Mo Jingchun had never seen or heard of before.

The code was in C++, a language Mo Jingchun was familiar with.

It can be said that C++ is currently the fastest computer language, especially suitable for time-sensitive AI programming projects. C++ offers faster execution and response times, which is why many games are developed based on C++.

Furthermore, C++ allows for large-scale use of algorithms and is very efficient in using statistical AI techniques. Another important factor is that due to inheritance and data hiding, C++ supports code reuse in development, saving both time and money. C++ is also suitable for machine learning and neural networks.

But what made Mo Jingchun understand this language the most was its difficulty, leading many developers, typically the bald-headed experts, to know about it.

The trouble for Mo Jingchun was the sheer amount of code. Even if he transcribed it on a computer without interruption every day, Mo Jingchun roughly calculated it would take at least four to five years. This was without interruption and spending at least eight to nine hours every day.

Looking at it, Mo Jingchun didn't believe that the four-year university period could allow the AI intelligent housekeeper to come out. Besides, university life wasn't as easy and carefree as the homeroom teacher had described.

As for abandoning his studies, Mo Jingchun had never considered it. He got into the highest institution, which was his mother's proudest achievement.

Mo Jingchun was not troubled by the overwhelming code and algorithms of the AI intelligent housekeeper. On the contrary, Mo Jingchun was somewhat happy.

Because, every algorithm in the intelligent housekeeper can be used separately.

There's no exaggeration in saying,

"With these alone, it is enough for Little Candy and me to live without worries for the rest of our lives."

Mo Jingchun's eyes were deep, seeming to burn with fire.

"If it were the old me, I'd be quite satisfied. Now... I wish to look at the enchanting starry sky above."

Mo Jingchun's eyes gazed at the twinkling stars of varying brightness outside the window, whispering to himself: "Which one could be you?"

"Mom."

"You always told me that every deceased person becomes a star in the sky."

"You wouldn't lie to your son, right."

In the cement-floored living room, a group of plainly dressed people sat on a somewhat yellowed long bench. In the middle of the group was a similarly yellowed Eight Immortals table, with some candle wax yet to be cleaned off.

The living room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Among the crowd, everyone had different expressions, their thoughts unknown.

A few men with slightly furrowed brows held in their hands a fifteen-yuan-a-pack cigarette that they never lit.

These cigarettes were personally distributed by Mo Jingchun, but no one picked up the nearby lighter to ignite them, understanding the harm of second-hand smoke to children, especially infants under the age of one.

The crumpled cigarettes in the men's hands clearly showed inner unrest.

"Have you really thought this through? Though your uncle is not capable, he can at least support your little sister."

Zhou Xing, with a head full of white hair and large hands full of calluses, spoke, raising his eyebrows and glaring at his wife beside him.

That kick was not light.

With Zhou Song speaking up, others quickly voiced their support, saying that raising Little Candy wouldn't be a problem. As for who was sincere and who was not, Mo Jingchun had his own judgment.

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and Mo Jingchun thought that couldn't be truer.

Mo Jingchun's face remained calm...
