As they stepped out of the cave, Ella and Elaine locked eyes on Fey. Their first reaction was confusion; they knew that Raze had not gone in there with this person.
Raze understood their confusion. He took them aside and explained the situation, making sure to hide the fact that he already knew about the presence of Fey inside the cave, and simply made it look like a coincidence.
"So what you want us to believe is that this dude standing beside you is a divine beast that hasn't been seen in hundreds of years?" Ella asked.
"Yup, that's it," Raze replied easily, with a smile on his face. She looked at him, her expression shifting into one of anger, then one of utter confusion and tiredness.
She ran her palm down her face and then looked at him. "You are joking, right?" she asked, then looked at Elaine. "He is joking, right?" Her eyes pleaded with Elaine to just say he was joking.
"I don't think he is," Elaine replied, shaking her head.
